I have never been one to make resolutions. Two years ago, my friend Ashley Rogers (Chesser and Barr) and I made a resolution that we would not make any calls or send any texts before we arrived to work in the morning. We would take our time getting ready, eat-ing breakfast, and preparing for the day without any interruptions from our cell phones. Work would start when we actually got to work. I’m embarrassed to say that I broke our resolution on January 2nd. It wasn’t because there was anything important going on that I couldn’t wait to communicate, it was simply because I forgot! I hope that if you are making any resolutions this year, that you are
more successful than me! Although January is not the beginning of the Chamber’s fiscal year, it is definitely a
turning point. Soon you will be seeing the slate of candidates for the incoming Board Members. We’ll also be choosing the new Chairmen for each committee. These can-didates will be approved by the current Board of Directors and will be brought before the general membership right here in the FOCUS over the next couple of months.
Another thing you can look forward to in January is the Annual Health and Wellness Expo. It is being held on January 14th at the Crestview Community Center. This year, Cameron Yordon (Beltone Hearing) is the Chair of the event and he has made a few
changes that will make it better than ever! This event is free to the public and there will be information and activities for guests of all ages. Bring the whole family!
I sincerely hope that you and your family enjoyed the Holiday Season as much as I did. I’ll be sad to take down the tree and put the Christmas songs away for another year, but I’m also excited for what’s to come. 2017 is going to be an awesome year for this Chamber and I’m honored to be a part of it. If there is anything that I can do, or this Chamber can do to help you succeed this year, please do not hesitate to contact me or the Chamber staff. That’s why we’re here! I hope to see you real soon!

Of the City of Crestview’s Centennial year, and what a year it’s been. Since the first program in January depicting how Crestview became the County Seat, it has been a great trip so far. Gee, it’s True! Time flies when you are having a good time.
Our Final event for the Centennial Year was the Christmas Through the Decades parade on December 3. It was one of the largest attendance we have had.
Thanks to all the groups who have helped make this year so special. The Crestview Centennial committee, along with the City of Crestview, Main Street Crestview, and the Crestview Redevelopment agency all did a tremen-dous job keeping everything organized and moving. There were many other groups that helped out this year. Don’t want to miss one, so we are not going to try to list! Please know we greatly appreciate all those who partici-pated! It takes a Village to celebrate 100 years, and the City of Crestview Centennial has had that Village to make this year a success.
AGAIN! THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO MADE THE YEAR A GREAT SUCCESS.
Collectible Coins continue to be available at the City Clerk’s office at
City Hall along with the Main Street Association Centennial Cookbooks. Several merchants on Main Street also have the cookbooks available.
Betsy Roy, City Clerk
