    licensed active broker or sales licensee workingday-to-day in the real estate eld, who hasdemonstrated the ollowing behaviors: Is actively involved in civic or community aairs Promotes a positive image o the Associationand our industry publicly throughout ourcommunity , Demonstrates leadership, earning the respecto ellow Realtors through proessional businesspractices, Is honest and trustworthy, displaying the highestdegree o unquestionable integrity and moral

    character with associates, clients and the public, Abides strictly with our Code o Ethics.

    Tere were some exceptional candidates this year, and the Realtor o the Year or2007, Velinda Fisher, has met all o the above criteria, and much, much more.

    Fisher joined the Association in 1999 and has been active on several committees overthe years. She took over leadership o the Community Service Committee (and its 50+members) last year and then continued in the Chair position again in 2007. In this role, shespearheaded several events throughout the year our Relay or Lie, Hilton Head HeroesGarage Sale, the Red Cross Blood Drive, the Boys and Girls Club Christmas parties,and worked or several other charities the Association supports. She also has her personalcharities that are dear to her heart, such as Te Tornwell Orphanage in Clinton, SC.

    Proessional Standards raining will be oered by theRealtor School in Bluton at the Hilton Garden Innon Tursday, January 17. Every member o the GrievanceCommittee, Proessional Standards Committee, and the Boardo Directors should to take the class. Te course was writtenby Dianna Brouthers, and she will be the instructor. It shouldbe one o the most interesting and inormative ProessionalStandards raining Sessions to date.

    For the Provisionally-Licensed Realtors, its time totake your post-licensing classes. We are having our o theve required six-hour PL-classes in January. All ve o these

    classes must be completed in your rstyear (PL1, 2, 3, 4, & 5) to obtain yourpermanent license. Te price has beenreduced to $79 per class or $395 total.

    Te dates are listed below. And ourinstructors are the best!

    Speaking o Ethics, did you know that you have to completeat least 2.5 hours o a Quadrennial Ethics class by December 31,2008? Look over all o the Ethics classes in the green brochure.Tere are some very interesting ones being oered, and someeven meet the core requirement.

    Still having trouble with Agency? Tere is an excellent classon January 25 by David Jaee, o Charleston. Also, in Februarywe will have an 8-hour Buyer Representation class ocusingon how to properly represent a buyer in a transaction. Do youlose out on sales because you orgot to have your buyer sign anAgency contract? Maybe you should check this one out.
