Its A Girl!- Born April 3, 1934, in London England to Montimer Herbert Goodall and Margaret Myfanwe Joseph.

- Loved Dr. Doolittle Books and Tarzan Books

-Thought that she would make a better “Jane” for Tarzan

- Left school at age 18

-Had dream of going to Africa - Finally left the

U.K in the summer of 1960 to Africa. Jane’s dream was a very unorthodox one for women at the time.

- Met Jane In Africa, and Invited her on a dig with him

-Jane was his secretary, and he introduced her to chimpanzees

- First chimp to use/make tools

- First chimp to be seen eating meat

- Inspired Jane for most of her later studies

- Club Established by Jane and other researchers to build trust by: Imitating behaviors, (spending time in trees) imitating sounds, etc.

-Discovered:

chimps have a complex social system, rituals, they hunt in packs and they have their own language made up of 20+ sounds
