The organisation has also distributed kits containing dry ration and essential commodities to more than 1000 families in Jammu and more than 250 families in Kashmir. The organisa- tion has also provided its Ashram at Udhampur to use as quarantine centre and supplied 300 beds and 300 mattresses for corona affected people. Moreover, the organisa- tion has donated Rs 5 lacs towards PM care fund and Rs 2 lacs to COVID-19 J&K relief fund. Sahib ji informed that or- ganisation has pledged to provide meal and necessary help to needy people post one week after lockdown even if the activity incurs cost requiring organisation to take loans from bank or selling ashram property. Sahib ji strongly exhorted that demanding donations in lieu of charity is strictly prohibited in our organisa- tion. Sahib ji also appealed people to help local adminis- tration by following various advisories and instructions to contain the spread of Corona virus. Sahib Bandgi organises press meet JAMMU, JUNE 07: Principal Secretary School Education, Dr Asgar Samoon today announced that Eco Clubs in the schools would be strength- ened and asked SAMAGRA SHIKSHA to develop a roadmap to designate 'En- viro-Diplomats' and 'En- viro-Facilitators' out of the teaching faculty. Dr Samoon stated this during the results of Online Poster Making Competition which was held on the eve of World Environment Day, 2020. On the occasion, he asked Project Director SAMAGRA SHIKSHA Ab- hiyan, Dr Arun Manhas to explore for some kind of convergence and associa- tion with other Depart- ments like Forests, Ecology & Wildlife, Lakes & Water- ways, Remote Sensing, Pol- lution Control Boards etc. The results were an- nounced today by SAMA- GRA SHIKSHA. This year's theme of competition was ‘Biodiversity’ wherein more than 2000 children all across the Jammu and Kashmir and even from other States/UTs including Assam, Uttrakhand and Chhattisgarh participated through online mode. Seeing the overwhelming response, Dr Samoon ex- pressed accolades to the children for showing inter- est towards environment protection. Eco Clubs to be strengthened in schools under Samagra Shiksha: Samoon HIMALAYAN MAIL NEWS JAMMU, JUNE 07 The Jammu and Kashmir Govern- ment has evacuated about 1,13,971 JK residents, stranded in other parts of the country due to COVID lockdown, via Lakhanpur and through special trains and buses till date amid strict observance of all necessary guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures. As per the official data received in this regard, the administrations of Jammu and Kashmir districts have re- ceived 46 special trains at Jammu and Udhampur railway stations from dif- ferent states and UTs, so far, with about 36,084 stranded passengers while about 77,887 persons have been evacuated by the government through Lakhanpur till date. Therefore, a total of about 1,13,971 J&K residents stranded outside UT have been brought back to the UT by the Jammu and Kashmir government by 46 special trains and a fleet of buses through Lakhanpur after strictly ob- serving all necessary preventive mea- sures regarding the Virus. As per the detailed break up about the figures, about 652 stranded pas- sengers have entered through Lakhan- pur from June 6 to June 7 mornings while 806 passengers have reached to- day in the 25th Delhi COVID special train at Jammu. So far, 25 trains have reached Jammu with a total of 20,388 stranded passengers belonging to dif- ferent districts while 15,696 passen- gers have reached Udhampur in 21 special trains, so far. As per the official communiqué, of 77,887 returnees evacuated through Lakhanpur till June 7, 2020 (morn- ing) included 20885 from Punjab; 22456 from Himachal Pradesh, 25 from Andhra Pradesh, 7228 from Delhi, 1427 from Gujarat, 3495 from Rajasthan, 4552 from Haryana, 162 from Chattisgarh, 3737 from Uttarak- hand, 1117 from Maharashtra, 4925 from Uttar Pradesh, 65 from Odisha, 268 from Assam and 1235 from Mad- hya Pradesh, 88 from Dehradun, 1478 from Chandigarh, 698 from Telen- gana, 122 from Karnataka, 23 from Tamilnadu, 52 from Chennai, 332 from Bihar, 183 from West Bengal, 117 from Jharkhand, 3 from Nepal, 3 from Goa and 3271 from other states and UTs. In the cur- rent year a target of plant- ing of 74.50 lac plants over an area of 13,364 ha has been approved and around one third target will be cov- ered during the monsoon season. The PCCF along with CF, East Circle and other offi- cers visited Samba Forest Division and inspected the Balode Nursery, where di- rections were given to con- cerned officers for up-gra- dation of nursery and opera- tions for production of best quality saplings which can give higher survival and growth. The staff was directed to accord preference to local species and collection of seeds from best known local sources. The consultation with Panchayats and local people to be always carried out so that tree varieties suited to their requirement are included in plantations. Local fruit varieties like kimbh, lasooda, amla and other wild fruits must also be included to meet the re- quirements of wild animals to mitigate human-animal conflict. It was followed by the inspection of CAMPA works in Comptt. 28/D of Mohargarh Range. The PCCF directed to carry out inventory of sur- vival, along with the natural regeneration, rejuvenation of root stock as well as of useful shrubs like garna, dhain and santha. He ad- vised the concerned DFO to carry out aerial photogra- phy and ground survey for proper documentation of all the closures. The team later visited Haria Chak and Chak Sona Nupa Nurseries of Kathua Forest Division and con- ducted thorough inspec- tion. Necessary directions were issued regarding the creation of windbreaks on the periphery of the nurs- ery, proper maintenance of the water channels, water source, seed stores and nursery equipment and timely nursery operations for quality seedlings pro- duction. The team on June 6 in- spected the Forest Fire Con- trol Room at Kathua Forest Division and gave necessary instructions for the up-gra- dation of the same. It was followed by the visit to Billawar Forest Division wherein Plantation closures at Bhugwalta, Tali Darbar and Sanana Chora of Ramkot Range along with Dungara Nursery, Billawar Range and Forest Fire Con- trol Room at Nagrota Gu- jroo were inspected. The PCCF advised the DFO for effective protection of plantation units with the involvement of local com- munities, besides their management on the scien- tific lines to maximize the benefits like grasses, fodder, and other MFP for bonafide use of locals. A detailed strategy was also finalized for raising of best quality saplings for coming years by utilizing seeds of only local varieties from best sources, up gradation of nurseries and training of staff. On the way back, the team visited Eco Task Force Nursery at 129 TA HQ, Samba maintained jointly by the Forest Department and Territorial Army. He said that keeping in view the rise in number of confirmed cases in J&K, there is an urgent need for quarantine facilities in the entire Union Territory of J&K.Bhalla asked Govt that Panchayats, local bodies, lambardars and chowkidars should be involved to trace/report the people hav- ing symptoms of covid-19 to avoid community transmis- sion.To avoid inconvenience to the public at large in in- fected areas , Govt should encourage and facilitate home delivery of ration, gro- ceries, fruit, vegetables, dairies and animal products to minimize the movement of individuals outside their homes. He also said all the precautions must be taken and there should not be any loop holes or gaps left in our fight against this pandemic.Jammu Munici- pal Corporation must spray sodium hypo solution in Jammu city, especially in af- fected areas where Covid case was reported.We can- not afford lethargic ap- proach and continued delay in carrying our sterilisation in the city, especially in af- fected areas where Covid pa- tients were detected.He de- manded constitution of special teams to carry out sanitation and sterilisation by spraying disinfectants in vulnerable areas.“In view of the current situation, direc- tions must be given to health officer, JMC, to spray sodium hypo solution in the affected areas on a war-foot- ing to keep check on the spread of virus,” said Bhalla. Lecturers' forum demands repatriation of J&K government education employees from Ladakh HIMALAYAN MAIL NEWS JAMMU, JUNE 07 Expressing their concern over the delay in reopening of Fitness centres in Jammu, the Gym Owners have urged upon the Lieutenant Governor G C Murmu to order reopening of their establishments. In a statement issued here today, Gym Owners said that all their estab- lishments were closed, as a measure to control the spread of COVID 19 but Fitness Industry is being ignored even after Central government's announce- ment of 'Unlock 1.0'. "After the nearly two month lock- down, we were hoping for some relax- ations under 'Unlock 1.0' as the same has been extended to other industries, which are also client interaction based industries like fitness centres. How- ever, the government has still not called for reopening our fitness cen- tres and gyms which has not only cre- ated an uncertain future for us but also for our employees and their families," said Neete Kour, an International gold medalist, who owns 'Queens Aerobic World' in Janipur. There has been no income of em- ployees since the last about two months of lockdown, she said. Neete Kour, who is also Vice Presi- dent of Jammu and Kashmir Amateur Power Lifting Association (JKAPA), Jammu Province, said that the lock- down has resulted in zero incomes to owners due to the closure of gyms. "We are neither able to pay salaries to employees nor rent to the owners of establishments. And, if the closure continues for another fortnight, many centres will not be in a position to re- open due to heavy financial liabilities," she stated. "We request the government to give some relaxation to fitness industry as well because it has become very diffi- cult to run our families due to continu- ous closure," demanded Fitness Coach Neete Kour. Owners of Scorpio Gym Hub, Queens Aerobic World, BJD Gym and other gyms of Jammu appealed the UT Administration to help these Fit- ness Centres and gyms to survive, as they are employers and provide em- ployment to unemployed youth. Moreover, Fitness centers also play an important role in boosting immunity of the visitors and keeping them phys- ically fit to fight against any virus."This can be done if we receive government support," they stated. The UT Administration should work out some financial package so that the centres are able to pay the rent of their establishments for the time the cen- tres remained closed. Monthly meeting of All J&K PlusTwo Lecturers' Forum was heldthrough teleconferencing under thechairmanship of its president DeepakSharma wherein the Forum de-manded repatriation of all J & K gov-ernment education employees fromLadakh region immediately amongothers issues raised threadware.

Deepak Sharma said that a largenumber of lecturers and other educa-tion department employees from UTof J&K are serving in Ladakh regionand have not been transferred back totheir respective home districts even af-ter completion of stipulated period of ofone year in hard areas. He further saidthat even option was sought from theJ&K Government employees tochoose between the two UTs of J&K

and Ladakh on bifurcation of J & Kstate but no exercise has been done inthis regard to give a sigh of relief to theEmployees.

Forum demanded immediate repa-triation of all J&K Government educa-tion employees including those re-cruited under SRO -202 to their homedistricts in J&K UT as SRO- 202 re-mains irrelevant and inapplicable inthis case as Ladakh is no more a partof J&K. Hence J&K government em-ployees deputed there should not bemade to languish in harsh weatherconditions.

Forum further hoped that Admin-strative committee framed to resolveissues and grievances of 10+2 cadrewill soon submit its report and practicalshape will be given to Running Grade/Time Bound Promotion and InductionQuota into KAS in favour of Plus TwoLecturers under the dynamic leader-

ship of Principal Secretary Dr AsgarHassan Samoon and Regularisationorders of all incharge incumbents/ re-tirees will also be issued at the earliestand placement of lectures as Seniorlecturers shall be expedited and otherdemands including Non vacationalstatus to Principals/ Head of Schools,provision of charge allowance in allpromotions/placements, restorationof 40% college quota, revocation ofSRO -202 , provision of Earned leave toteaching community and Regularisa-tion of physical education lecturersand removal of their pay anomaly willalso be acceded to on priority.

Expressing their concern over thedelay in reopening of Fitness centresin Jammu, the Gym Owners haveurged upon the Lieutenant GovernorG C Murmu to order reopening of theirestablishments.

In a statement issued here today,Gym Owners said that all their estab-lishments were closed, as a measure tocontrol the spread of COVID 19 butFitness Industry is being ignored evenafter Central government's announce-ment of 'Unlock 1.0'.

"After the nearly two month lock-down, we were hoping for some relax-ations under 'Unlock 1.0' as the samehas been extended to other industries,which are also client interaction basedindustries like fitness centres. How-ever, the government has still notcalled for reopening our fitness cen-tres and gyms which has not only cre-

ated an uncertain future for us but alsofor our employees and their families,"said Neete Kour, an International goldmedalist, who owns 'Queens AerobicWorld' in Janipur.

There has been no income of em-ployees since the last about twomonths of lockdown, she said.

Neete Kour, who is also Vice Presi-dent of Jammu and Kashmir AmateurPower Lifting Association (JKAPA),Jammu Province, said that the lock-down has resulted in zero incomes toowners due to the closure of gyms.

"We are neither able to pay salaries toemployees nor rent to the owners ofestablishments. And, if the closurecontinues for another fortnight, manycentres will not be in a position to re-open due to heavy financial liabilities,"she stated.

"We request the government to givesome relaxation to fitness industry aswell because it has become very diffi-

cult to run our families due to continu-ous closure," demanded Fitness CoachNeete Kour.

Owners of Scorpio Gym Hub,Queens Aerobic World, BJD Gym andother gyms of Jammu appealed theUT Administration to help these Fit-ness Centres and gyms to survive, asthey are employers and provide em-ployment to unemployed youth.Moreover, Fitness centers also play animportant role in boosting immunityof the visitors and keeping them phys-ically fit to fight against any virus."Thiscan be done if we receive governmentsupport," they stated.

The UT Administration should workout some financial package so that thecentres are able to pay the rent of theirestablishments for the time the cen-tres remained closed.

They assured to follow social dis-tancing norms and highly effectiveStandard Operating Procedure.
