We brought in over $10,000 between the Fun Run and Breakfast. I personally want to thank everyone of our council for helping out this year. We had many new people helping this year, which was great to see too! Once again Gary Dvorcek did a marvelous job handling the logistics for the Fun Run. Gary has done this for many years, and we thank him for all the time and effort he has put into this event. Gary has been looking for someone to take over the logistics side of this event for the last few years. To that end, Gary had an additional helper this year who will take over for future years. Thank you to Isaac Mezera for take this job over, he will have big shoes to fill. But don’t worry we all will be available to help out. Again thank you Gary for all of your leadership of this event over the years. Thank you Jeff Reiter and the ladies from the PCCW for handling the registrations again this year. Jeff setup the online registrations through Event Brite, sent out mailings to past regristrants via mail and email mail, packed up the pre-registration t-shirts, and much more! Sponsorships where handled by many people this year (Joe La Mere, Paul Fisk, Isaac Mezera, Gary Dvorcek, Eric Wink, Shawn Handland, James Hodges, Dave Hawes, Tom Hundt, and myself). Thank you all very much, I hope I didn’t miss anyone! Peyton La Mere helped out this year by helping us out with making posters for the Fun Run and Breakfast! This saved us money, and it was nice to see talents in action. Thank you to Dave for handling the Breakfast again this year. It was nice to see all the new helpers this year. There are so many more people to thank for making our Kornfest Weekend so successful. iViva Cristo Ray! (Long Live Christ the King) Brian Clements, Grand Knight

Thank you for opening up your garage all summer to refurbish the parish Altar Blocks. They look so beautiful and will definitely provide us a beautiful sanctuary for years to come.

Holmen Knights of Columbus 2019 Kornfest Breakfast Recap

We had another awesome turnout for our Kornfest events! The breakfast was our best success ever! I would like to thank all those that helped out with our very busy weekend of Kornfest. It’s always so awesome to see so many Knights, parishioners, and our youth group pitching in to make our 2019 Kornfest Breakfast a huge success.

A very special thank you always goes to Len Beranek for providing and cooking up all the sausage links to go with our Biscuits & Gravy. We were able to bring in a little over $1,700, a new record ! Along with the donation basket, the total ended up just over $3200 going towards a family in need, as you saw at the breakfast. It’s amazing to see how everyone comes together for those going through difficult times.

I know everyone has a busy schedule nowadays with work, family, and school events already kicking in this time of year, so we are truly grateful for each and everyone’s help and support for this very busy, but important weekend. Let’s make 2020 even better!

Thank you,

David Hawes

During September, as in all of Ordinary Time (formerly known as Time After Pentecost), the Liturgy does not focus on one particular mystery of Christ, but views the mystery of Christ in all its aspects. We follow the life of Christ through the Gospels, and focus on the teachings and parables of Jesus and what it means for us to be a follower of Christ. During Ordinary Time we can concentrate more on the saints and imitate their holiness as Christ's followers.

This month the main liturgical feasts are St. Gregory the Great(September 3), the Birth of Mary (September 8),

Holy Name of Mary (September 12), St. John Chrysostom ( September 13), Exaltation of the Holy Cross

(September 14), Our Lady of Sorrows (September 15), St. Robert Bellarmine (September 17),

St. Januarius (September 19), St. Andrew Kim and Companions (September 20), St. Matthew (September 21),

Sts. Cosmas and Damian (September 26), St. Vincent de Paul(September 27), and Sts. Michael, Gabriel and

Raphael (September 29).

The feasts of St. Peter Claver (September 9), Sts. Cornelius and Cyprian(September 16), St. Pio (September 23)

and St. Jerome (September 30) are superseded by the Sunday liturgy.

The month of September is dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows, whose memorial the Church celebrates on September 15. September falls during the liturgical season known as Ordinary Time, which is represented by the liturgical color green.

Liturgical Focus This Month
