Performance Notes

This arrangement is flexible to suit the needs of many vocal ensembles and perfor-mance contexts. Though I have found that it is quite brilliant around quarter note = 166, the piece retains its integrity through a range of tempo options. Also, the accompaniment is intended as a guideline. Accompanists may choose to modify the prescribed accompaniment, perhaps by maintaining the bass line and leaving out some of the suggested right-hand runs, or by improvising entirely new ideas to sup-port this exciting gospel style. Enjoy!
