Principals News
Week 5 already and we are halfway through the last term for 2016. The next five weeks are certainly actioned packed
with lots more learning and assessment to be completed, along with swimming, the school play and awards night, Yr 6
graduation, RI play, Prep – Yr 3 excursion to Dreamtime and the Crazy Joker, transition days and interviews for our
seniors, and more.
As part of the PE curriculum the students will be taking part in swimming lessons at the Biloela Pool, this will be
completed in a 5 day block starting on the 01/12/2016 until the 07/12/2016. Regular classes will be still taking place
either side of the swimming times, but lunch breaks may be a little different. Students will be bussed to and from the
pool, departing at 11:30am and returning at approximately 1:30pm. There will be invoices and more information to
come out next week.
Unfortunately Chappy has had to postpone this weekend’s Daddy Daughter Day as he has lost all of his work, laptop
and personal belongings in the fire at the high school and this along with the extra workload to support the students
and staff at the high school he didn’t feel 100% prepared for this event or able to give our year 6 girls the day they
deserve. He will provide more information in the coming weeks, and thank you for understanding.
EDSCO 2017 has been sent home, so please check your student’s bags. If you require any further information please
come and see Michelle on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.
The year 6 Graduation Dinner invites are out, please RSVP as soon as you can.
The RE Annual Christmas play will be on Friday the 25/11/2016 at 11:45am in the administration building, everyone
welcome.
The next P&C meeting is on the 08/11/2016 at 3pm, all welcome.
Last week we had the Biloela Community Kindy visiting, three of our pre-preps currently attend there. They joined
the Prep – Yr 3 class and had a lovely time participating in activities centred around a “Bear Hunt.
It has been lovely to have our pre preps visiting our school on Wednesdays participating in the pre-prep program. This
week there were lots of speckled frogs! Also thanks to their parents for constructing our large pin board while they
were here.
Last Friday the 28th
of October was
“World Teachers Day”, I would like
to thank our very small but dedicated
team here at Jambin State School and
also thank you to all the parents who
helped with our surprise morning tea
on Monday, the flowers, cake and
presents were greatly appreciated.
A big thank you to Dianne who has
provided school banking for our
school, it has been fantastic to see all
the excited students bring in their
pocket money to bank every Tuesday. It has also provided the school with $222.91 as a commission.
Lastly I would like to acknowledge the dedication and the hard work our tuckshop ladies and particularly our
convenor Mrs Jodie Wilson have again put in for another year of Tuckshop success. This Friday 4th
of November is
Tuckshop Day. Thank you for being great volunteers and providing delicious lunches for all to enjoy.
Yours in Education,
Kerry

an assistant, Abbie Dunn.
In English the grade 4-5s have been looking at

Mrs O and are going to make their own short stories for
themselves.
Here is a riddle: there are 10
fish in a tank, 2 drown, 4
swim away and 3 die how

them have been taken out of the
tank.

for the school play “Alice in Wonderland”.
In Science this term the 5-6s have been learning about

Why did the Groom cross the road?
Answer: To get to the other Bride!
