Jamaine Campbell for Port Hardy Council

A lot of people are turned off by politics. I think this is because politics can sometimes come across as boring, argumentative and inaccessible. I also think I am the type of candidate that can help to change this in some small way by LEADING BY EXAMPLE. I mean, I am a very lively, young and an easy to get along with kind of guy, who with a big dream and a little elbow grease is being considered for one of Port Hardy’s most important jobs! Finally, I am not easily excited. Nor do I tend towards an idea just because it is popular. I WILL WORK TOWARDS WHAT I THINK IS RIGHT . Most importantly though, I want to use my strong mind and creativity to make Port Hardy a place worth living in, worth living in because people feel have that they are having their voices heard by those who can make a difference, and that that difference reflects their wishes." VOTE JAMAINE CAMPBELL FOR TOWN COUNCIL IN HIS OWN WORDS: “Hey, I’m a fun guy. I am very passionate and I work hard. I have also got a knack for bringing people together. That is what’s at the heart of any good community, people coming together to get things done. Plus, I’m young and love to learn. One of these days my generation going to be responsible for running these political and economic systems and I WANT TO BEGIN TO DO MY PART. There are many things I’ve yet to learn about political life but I'm excited to get the chance to do so! North Island archaeology survey (2010)

Since arriving in Port Hardy Jamaine has put his skills towards several endeavours from construction to silViculture to archaeology and stream & land assessments to starting up a successful landscaping company.

He has enjoyed all of these undertakings thoroughly, but none so much as what he is doing right now. Early last year Jamaine landed a job teaching at Eke Me-Xi alternate school. Here he helps lead a class of grade 8 to 10 students. His natural love of learning and true enthusiasm for the success oF the youth makes this job a terrific fit for Jamaine.

Having sat in meetings with Jamaine and observed him in his interactions with community, I am always impressed with how he considers others’ ideas thoughtfully before offering his own.”
