JACOB DE BAAN Dutch designer Jacob de Baan is passionate about light and lighting. He designs lamps on his own account that are commercially exploited by international lighting brands. Amongst his clients are NEW DUIVENDRECHT, DARK, OSRAM and PHILIPS. His lighting designs are exhibited in museums all over the world. Studio Jacob de Baan is located in Amsterdam and in Istanbul. In this brochure a new range of lighting solutions for day, evening and night is showcased: VLAMP GOLD, SAFIR, DENIZ, ULAMP and OLAMP. Jacob de Baan: “Natural lighting circumstances are dynamic and depend on the sun’s changing altitude- and color. My approach is to translate this natural experience into corresponding design solutions. Some of the designs offer a cool light that comes from above and therefore are intended for daytime use. Other lamps deliver reddish and lower positioned light for late night use. In my designs I pay particular attention to ecology and sustainability. No glue or screws are used, allowing easy recycling. The fixtures are efficiently packed in flat boxes for light and efficient transportation.”
