PARENT BULLETIN

JETS

Dear Parents, June 2017

The countdown seems to be on, and we will continue to stay focused on learning

in these last few weeks. During this time, it will be especially important to check your

email, PTA blasts, and the newsletter for upcoming events, dates and times!

Remember that Baltimore County has decided the last days of school this year,

and our calendar has been adjusted. The last two days will be June 12 and 13. They are

half days for our JES students.

Make sure you put the following dates on your calendar for the 2017-2018 school year.

August 28th: Kindergarten Picnic

August 29th: New Parent Night

August 31st: 2:00-3:00 Take a Peek at your Seat

August 31st: 6:00 Back to School Night

Rain did not keep the fun away on May 19th! The Carnival was set to go outside

and then the showers came! Within 45 minutes the entire carnival was set up and ready

to go inside. Thank you to the many hands that made the carnival happen! By the end

the sunshine came out and the families came to celebrate the great parts of being a

Jacksonville Family! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting this PTA

event!

As summer approaches remember that our school office is open all summer to

help with any needs your family has. Our summer hours will be from 8:30 to 3:00 every

day. If you know your child is not returning to JES, please stop in and withdraw your

student. This will allow us to send the needed documents to the next school before the

summer is over.

Also, please make certain if you are a 5th grade parent, or parent with shared

domicile that you come in to re-prove residency. Any students who have not had this

vital update done will be un-enrolled on July 1st! We are also available during regular

school hours from 8:30-3:00 each day.

I am happy and sad to announce that there will be some changes in our faculty

next year. Mrs. West-Birely will be leaving us at the end of this month. She has been an

outstanding member of our staff, and we hope she enjoys her retirement! We welcome

Mrs. Tara Larkin who will be joining us from Halstead as our second full-time special

educator! She is fantastic and we can’t wait for her to join us next school year.

There will also be some grade level changers this year. Our teachers are experts

and this change will allow us to continue to challenge our students. Please help me

celebrate the new JES Staff roster for 2017-2018.
