Progress Energy Florida – Crystal River Nuclear Station Unit 3 Directed the development of engineering change packages as Responsible Engineer for Progress Energy Florida for three major plant modifications in support of the Extended Power Uprate (EPU) Project. These major modifications included the replacement of two Condensate Pumps and Motors, two Feedwater Booster Pumps and two Main Feedwater Pumps. Provided the necessary direction and interface with the A/E firm acting on behalf of Progress Energy as a seconded employee during the design development stages of each engineering change package, including final owner’s review. SCE&G – V.C. Summer Nuclear Station, Unit 1. Responsible for man-hour estimates, task scope development, and project coordination/interface of the design and analysis of piping systems/supports and the development of various plant modification packages (major and minor). Involvement with the resolution of various High Energy Line Break (HELB) issues to support plant modifications including the performance of a third party review of the Emergency Feedwater System, with emphasis on HELB criteria, to insure proper documentation and conformance to HELB Licensing and Design Bases.

Northeast Nuclear Energy Company (NNEC) – Millstone Unit 2, Independent Corrective Action Verification Program, Tier 1 Vertical Slice. Confirm the adequacy of NNEC efforts to ensure Millstone Unit 2 physical and functional characteristics are in conformance with its licensing and design bases. Responsible for review of various piping analyses in a vertical slice investigation of four major plant systems that encompasses physical and functional characteristics, and all modifications to these systems. Also responsible for the review and evaluation of NNEC’s HELB Project Upgrade Program for both inside and outside of the containment building.

Florida Power Corporation (FPC) – Crystal River Nuclear Station Unit 3 Responsible for man-hour estimates, task scope development, project coordination/interface and the performance of the design and analysis of piping systems/pipe supports; seismic qualification of equipment including the main control board in support of plant modifications (major and minor). Also assisted in the upgrade of the CR3 HELB program to update this program to current standards.

1981 - 1995 Technical Engineering Specialist, WorleyParsons, Reading, Pennsylvania

TVA – Johnsonville Cogeneration Project. Responsible for the design and analysis of piping systems and pipe supports of various high pressure steam lines for interconnection of four existing boilers and the installation of a new cogeneration turbine. Performed the piping analysis and support designs of a 24" diameter low pressure/high temperature steam supply line of approximately 6,000 feet in length that was routed over a variety of terrain and piping bridges to the steam customer.

Brookhaven National Laboratory – High Flux Beam Reactor (HFBR). Performed SQUG walkdowns to verify the seismic adequacy of connections to the HFBR primary system piping. Project provided a systematic methodology for documentation of the seismic adequacy of the small bore pipe and tubing connections (predominantly drain and instrument sensing lines) required to maintain the pressure boundary integrity of the primary and shutdown systems.

Calvert Cliffs Steam Electric Station Units 1 and 2 Performed SQUG walkdowns of various tanks based on the GIP criteria to assist in the resolution of Unresolved Safety Issue USI A-46.

Comanche Peak Steam Electric Station Units 1 and 2 – Comanche Peak Review Team. Reviewed the design and analysis of conduit supports.

FPC, Crystal River Station, Unit 3. Responsible for the redesign and engineering evaluations of large-bore pipe supports and various heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) duct supports. Also, responsible for the evaluation of field change notices during construction of large-bore pipe supports and HVAC supports.

ESCOM – Koeberg Power Station, Unit 2, Paris, France, Office. Involved with the as-built verification program. Worked directly with the architect/engineer in comparing and analyzing as-built versus as-designed conditions of selected piping systems and supports. Coordinated the process and issued weekly progress reports for the last six weeks of the project.

Rochester Gas & Electric Corporation – R.E. Ginna Generating Facility, Unit 1 – Responsible for design and redesign of pipe supports for the seismic upgrade of safety shutdown piping. Evaluated field change requests and performed line walkdowns to solve pipe support related construction problems. Assisted contractor with problems encountered during construction of new support and modifications to existing supports.
