alan recently attended a private party with his new label mates for Capitol/emI staffers and execs at Nashville’s Puckett’s Grocery &

Restaurant. each of the Capitol/emI’s artists performed a semi-acoustic set for 2 or 3 songs, artists included Dierks Bentley, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Darius Rucker, Little Big Town, Luke Bryan and eric Church. During Alan’s set, he asked if anybody wanted to join him for a song—Dierks and Keith eagerly hopped up on stage to join in on one of Alan’s favorite Hank classics, “mind Your Own Business.” The all-star trio stole the show!

snapshots5 Nancy Pfeifer’s 2011 was the Year of Alan! She got to finally meet a dear friend & fellow AJ fan, Dee Davis from Australia. They always promised if Alan ever came to Australia Nancy & her husband would come for a visit! After her return from Downunder, Nancy was off to Colorado for another show with dear friends, where they met up with Roger & monty! Then the best part of 2011? Nancy fulfilled another dream of meeting Alan in Tulsa! We hope your 2012 is just as awesome as 2011!

fanreview

When I heard that Alan Jackson was coming to the Willamette Country music Festival in Brownsville, Oregon I knew I had to get tickets! I was lucky enough to get up close with 7th row seats for myself and two friends. When I called them to tell them how close we would be, they were so excited! This was the first time that any of us had been to one of his concerts, and this was finally our chance to see the legend in person. I have always been a big fan, buying his CDs and enjoying his videos and TV appearances. But I became a huge fan after hearing, “Sissy’s Song.” This song really resonated with me and I felt an instant connection to that song after losing the love of my life to an accident in July, 2007 (only two months after Sissy’s passing). Wanting to know more about this incredible songwriter and performer, I went in search of the book that Denise wrote. The book helped me in so many ways that I can honestly say I’m a fan of hers as well. Anyway, back to the concert. From the moment that Alan walked out and teased us with his mispronunciation of “Willamette Valley,” with the crowd roaring back the correct pronunciation (it is pronounced “Will-am-utt”) we knew we where in for a GOOD TIme. We were on our feet the entire time. We clapped and sang along enjoying every moment hoping to catch one of the guitar picks he would throw out from time-to-time. In addition to, “Remember When,” I was also thrilled to hear, “Living On Love” (another favorite of mine). Aside from his amazing voice and presence Alan displayed a great sense of humor and seemed very humble and down to earth. It’s absolutely amazing that a living legend can carry himself with that much humility and grace. It was also refreshing to see Alan allows his band, The Strayhorns, to shine as well as they did with, “As She’s Walking Away.” Throughout the show it was obvious that they have a great time playing together and Alan really shows that he has a tremendous amount of respect for his backup musicians. He kept us spellbound with his incredible voice and heart touching songs. The set list included many of his 34 number one hits! From the videos it was very evident that his love of his family is number one in his heart. I think it is great when he says that his girls are the best present ever given to him—what a tribute to his wife! It was a wonderful evening and a real treat to get to see him perform up close and personal. I had hoped I would win meet and greet passes at this concert, but maybe next time. We all agreed that this concert would not be our last. Can’t wait till you come back to the Pacific Northwest!!! Sincerely, Debbie Slinker
