Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

As I sit to write this letter it strikes me that the sun Is trying to shine

through the clouds. What is more striking is that when it does it is almost

blinding. This spring has been wet and gloomy, but we all hope and pray

for summer when it will be warmer and nicer. A time when we can get out

and enjoy our yards, gardens and the like.

As Christians, we too have gloomy seasons when things just are not right, when we are dragged down

by all of life’s stuff. We are too are blinded by the light that shines through and have to pause to get our

bearings. But we too live into the hope of better things to come. It is why Jesus, the light of the world, was

sent. To give us hope, hope in a future, hope that the Son will come again, hope to put one foot in front of

the other. Do not dismay, the Son is coming and when he does it will be glorious. Until then, take ad-

vantage of everyday you have, enjoy the sun as it peaks through the clouds and savor what is to come.

I just realized that this is the final letter I will write for the Christian Chronical as the pastor of just the

two churches. While, I would think this might sadden me, and it does, I also look forward to what is to

come. These last 5 plus years serving this two point parish has taught me a lot and I have grown as a leader

because of the people of First and Zion. I look forward too many more years serving you, albeit in a slightly

different capacity as we venture into our new parish of four churches. I will continue to serve you as lead

pastor but you will also be served by another pastor and take on the task of raising up leaders in the church

through the internship program. I am looking forward to the mission and ministry God will set before us as

we live into this plan.

May God continue to guide us and provide us with opportunities to serve our communities.

Blessings,

Pastor RickPastor RickPastor RickPastor Rick

The men of First Lutheran are on a mission and they want YOU YOU YOU YOU to come along!!

The agenda for this meeting:

Elect Officers-Mission Plan-Golf Scramble-Parish Picnic-Assist with “First Summer Fest”

The group met twice last fall and discussed what type of projects and events they would like to undertake. Some of the events discussed would be to help raise funds for the church and other ministries. Some of the topics for future projects that were discussed ae the church building repairs, helping each other, helping com-munity members, conducting a Saturday morning breakfast and cleaning yards.

The group is very excited to see just what can be accomplished, in the physical sense and with building deeper personal relationships with each other and God. We all strive to be good Christians but sometimes fall short of his glory. This group has the ability to help us become better Christians and show others God’s true love.

Please see or call Richard at 715-428-2787 or Butch at 715-428-2930 for more information.
