Edward “Ed“ Winstead, CSP, ARM, CLCS Senior Vice President Roanoke, VA Responsibilities: Ed provides client coverage and risk consulting services to Rutherfoord’s property and casualty clients. Services include risk consultation, exposure and coverage evaluation, loss analysis, benchmarking, carrier negotiations and coverage placement. Ed also works with the insurance companies to coordinate and monitor their services for our clients. The main emphasis of Ed’s services is a focus on risk analysis and controls either through internal systems or financial risk transfers, including the use of insurance products, if needed. Experience and Professional Accomplishments: Before joining Rutherfoord in 1998, Ed worked for 15 years with insurance companies as a Senior Risk Control Consultant in Virginia and internal referral specialist. His experience includes providing safety management consulting assistance to hundreds of companies over a 30 year period in a wide variety of industries including healthcare, manufacturing, construction, and transportation. Ed has a strong track record of guiding risk burdened companies through turnarounds and showing strong returns on their risk management investments. Ed is a nationally Certified Safety Professional (CSP), holds a professional designation in Risk Management (ARM), and is a Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist (CLCS). Ed has been a nationally Authorized OSHA Instructor for both construction and general industry standards. He is the past President of the Star Valley Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) and served on the regional ASSE Professional Development Conference committee. Ed is a Licensed Agent for Property and Casualty Insurance in the Commonwealth of Virginia and surrounding states.
