It is so important to spend me with our friends, family, and of course our awesome pets. But while our pets can play a key role in our lives and our community, there are a few City Ordinances concerning animal control to keep in mind: Any person owning, keeping, harboring, or having custody of any dog or cat over the age of six (6) months must have a current pet license (SBMC § 5-50). This license must be renewed yearly and requires proof of rabies vaccines for each pet. Some service animals may be exempt from these fees with appropriate documentaon and there are discounted fees for animals that have been spayed or neutered.
