1. Executive Summary
Networking is all about how you interact with other people and changing information or
ideas. There are some things that a good networker must have, such as keep in touch with the
contacts, be a good listeners, a truthful desire to help others, persistence and patience, be
enthusiastic and many more. In the development of our career, networking is the effective
way for us to expand our business. By joining a networking organization is one of the
effective and easiest way to know a lots of people and information regarding on our career
aspirations. We will get a lot of benefits, such as we can meet a lot of people in different
countries without have to go to their countries, we can exchange our ideas without a face to
face conversation and a lot more.

1. Introduction to the Importance of Networking
Networking is the practice of exchanging news or information and making contact with other
peoples, groups or institutions. Networking is usually happens with others who have same
interests in similar area. Networking is using and developing contacts made in business with
the purposes beyond the reason to the initial contact. For example, a sales person asks his
customer about his friends’ name who might be interested with his product. An entrepreneur
should have the ability to network. Networking is one of the most effective methods to get in
to the business.
To be a good networker you must:
1.1. Keep in touch with the contacts
Take some time to know your contacts well, not only in business basis but also on social
life.
1.2. Be a good listener
Introverts are sometimes better in networking than extroverts, because a good networker
don’t have to be always talking about himself or herself, which makes him or her better
listeners. As a networker, effective listening is a must have skill.
1.3. A truthful desire to help others
Help other peoples without expecting anything in return. When we help others to get
what they want, it will make them remember you when you need something.
1.4. Persistence and patience
Don’t easily give up. Sadly not many people possess those traits. The key to be
successful in networking is you must follow up. It is how you make others trust you by
do something that you say you will work on. The good things are that since not many
people are doing this, you can survive by doing this.
1.5. Be enthusiastic
You must enthusiastic with your products, about yourself, services that you provided and
the brand that you represent.

6. Conclusion
Networking allows people to meet the others, interact with friends and even make business
with only a few clicks. There are some characteristics to be a good networker and I
mentioned 5 of them at the above. You don’t have to have perfectly same characteristics like
that to be a good networker. Just understand the concepts and apply it in your networking life
and you should be good enough. There are some networking organizations that may help you
in your career aspirations. Even some of them require a fee to join up, but you will get a lot
of benefits by joining them, such as you can get more information about you career prospect.
