No more than 4-7 bullets per slide
Pick a format and stay with it
Use sound sparingly
Don’t overuse clip art

Let’s try it• Insert New Slide, choose Blank• Click on the Rectangle icon
– Click and Drag a box on the right side– With it selected, click the Fill icon– Choose a color– If the line around the object is a different, click
on the Line Color icon and make changes• Click on the Text Box icon, click on the color box
– Type TechEd 2007• With it selected, click the Font color icon and make
changes• Hold the Shift key, select both objects and go to
Draw | Align and select Align Center and Middle

• Create a Chart or double click on existing chart• Place cursor on an Axis Gridline, right click and
select Clear• Place cursor on Wall, right click and select Clear• Double click any area to bring up Format dialog
box and make necessary changes
• Double click a data series to bring up the Format Data Series dialog box
• Make changes, click OK• To select on bar/line, double click on series, pause
then click the one you want to change• Make changes, click OK

Create a Menu Slide• Create or Insert an object• With the object selected, right click on it and select
Hyperlink• You are given 4 choices to link to
– Existing file or Web page• jump to a different file or a web site
– Place in document• jump to a slide in the current presentation
– Create a New Document• attaches to the presentation
– Email address
• Make changes, click OK

2 Animations on Object• Create or Insert object• Right click, select Custom Animation• Click the Add Effect button, Select Entrance, make
choice• Modify as necessary• Click on the Animation settings, then click the
object• Click the Add Effect button, select Exit, make
choice• Make sure the exit settings are immediately after
the entrance settings in the Custom box• Click Play button and adjust if necessary
Motion on a Path• Create or Insert object• Select one or more objects• Click on Add Effects button, Motion Paths, Draw
Custom Path and choose Freeform• Click on one of the selected objects.• From this point, every time you click your mouse,
you are creating a point on the path– If you want to draw straight lines hold down the Shift key
as you move your mouse
• When you reach your last point, double click and watch the animation
• If you applied this to more than one object, you will have to adjust the timing on each or they will all move at one time
Bonus
Change The Perspective
Changing the perspective of an object can add drama, interest and emphasis to the object
Insert object onto a slide
Right click and select Save as Picture, give it a name and select PNG as the File Type
Next, launch your graphic editing program i.e. GIMP, Photoshop, etc. and open the picture you saved above
Look for a Transform, Skew or Perspective command
Select one of the handles on the picture
Click and drag the top corner handle in and down and the bottom corner in and up
Adjust to desired angle and double click on the picture
Save the picture and flatten the image if asked to do so
Don’t worry if you receive a message about transparency
Next, go back to the Powerpoint slide and delete the object
Insert the new image onto the slide
Resize if necessary, you can’t change the perspecitve but you can adjust the size of the graphic
