Andrew and DarLee-Ann Macphail have been working together as a husband and wife photography team since they were married in 2004. Both came to the table with formal post-secondary training and backgrounds in photography, fine art, and design. This lead to the natural progression of building a business that encompasses their training and passion.

“We consider it a tremendous blessing to be able to work in an area that we love. Taking images is not work for us in the normal sense of the word, it is fun and allows us creative expression.”

Knowing their photography partner so well allows them to keep the wedding day flowing, making it enjoyable and memorable for all involved. “By seeing where Andrew is standing and what lens he has, I just know the image that he is capturing”. Their goal is to keep things technically straightforward, using mostly prime lenses and available light when possible to strip away the intimidation and barriers that can come with too much equipment, allowing them to achieve comfortable, natural images for their clients.

Their style is contemporary, blending a mixture of traditional posed, retro, photojournalitisic, all having a touch of humour, while capturing images that reveal the personality of their clients. Every wedding they aim to capture a range of styles and subject matter, focusing on the bride and grooms memories of the day. This includes a mix of formal, semi-posed, & relaxed portraits capturing the spontaneous moments of the day, and the details that the bride and groom spend so much time planning.

They choose to attract clients who understand their style, people who are willing to be themselves and show their own personality. “Our goal is to create unique opportunities for our clients to express their personalities and to capture it visually. We want to ensure that our clients see themselves in their images, cherishing the memory forever.” This requires a good match between the photographer and clients, enabling them to build relationships with clients, allowing them to capture and create timeless, treasured images that are also a piece of art.

The first consultation is free of charge. No commitments, no deposits, no pressure. We just want to give you the opportunity to meet us in person, discuss your ideas and help you decide if our process is right for you.

The next step in the process is where we take all of your ideas (and your budget!) and do some sketches for you to show you ways to put all the bits and pieces you love into one fabulous dress.

Once we’ve looked at your drawings together and helped you choose your fabrics, we write all of the details in an agreement along with the total cost of your dress. No surprise charges when your dress is done.

The first fitting we do is in a test fabric. This gives you a sneak peek at the style on your body and allows us to make fit adjustments. We do this super important step just in case there are any changes to be done before we cut the pretty fabric.

Next come the fittings in what will eventually be your dress. Fear not, we’ll take it slow... starting with the inside structural layers, moving to the pretty fabrics you chose and finishing with the perfect details. As we said, no surprises. You will have several opportunities to tweak and tune as your dress comes together before your very eyes.
