In chapter 9, Beah uses imagery to create mental pictures in the readers mind.

Create a 5 column chart with the 5 senses as headings. (sight, smell, taste, touch, hear)

Every time you come across imagery that would appeal to any of the 5 senses, reference the page number you found the imagery.

CONVERSATION

1.Write a conversation between the two villagers spreading the rumors about the boys. Explain who they are afraid of and why. What do they think will happen? Who do they think is coming? What do they think they are going to do?
