Day 3 – Oct. 2EDINBURGH HIGHLIGHTS Today we’ll take a guided tour of Scotland’s capital city. Start your sightseeing by traveling through the heart of the city along Princes Street, famous for its shops on one side and gardens on the other. See the 18th century New Town with its broad streets, spacious squares, and elegant town houses. Stop at Carrubber’s Close to see where Reverend Campbell and his sister were when they stayed at the Henderson’s Lodging House. Next, take a guided tour of the imposing Edinburgh Castle, perched high above the city on volcanic rock. Then view the Prestonpans Monument, which honors those lost in the first significant battle of the Jacobite Uprising. In Outlander Season 2, Angus, a fan favorite, was injured during the Battle of Prestonpans and later died from internal bleeding. Continue on to see the Preston Mills and Phantassie Doocot. The set designers of Outlander went to great lengths to modify the property so it would look like the fictitious, 18th century Lallybroch Estate in Outlander Season 1, Episodes 12 and 13. One of the more memorable scenes filmed here was when Jamie hid underwater as the Redcoats came searching for him. After your visit, return to Edinburgh for a free evening.

OVERNIGHT: APEX WATERLOO PLACE HOTEL, EDINBURGH

Day 4 – Oct. 3GLASGOW SIGHTSEEINGToday we travel west from Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital city, to the charming and artistic city of Glasgow. Your final visit of the day will be to the Kelvingrove Gallery, which was built to house the 1901 International Exhibition. The collection within ranges from local historical art to a Storm Trooper costume from the original Star Wars films. Head back to Edinburgh where you may like to freshen up before dining on your own.
