Batch Refinery System – Belize Executive Summary The system is a very compact, well-installed design housed in a 15000mm x 7500mm x 9000mm tall (50 ft x 25 ft x 30 ft tall + roof) building on three levels. The equipment is new, purchased in circa 2000-2002, and as advertised, has never had oil in it or started up. All equipment is in excellent shape. Discussion The system is inside and protected from the elements so there is no rust or damage at all and the original paint is still intact. The interiors of the vessels where there was no coating have only a slight coating of rust which can be easily removed with flushing. See schematic drawing. Structure & Piping: The 2 levels of structure and grating access are in very good shape, and should be match-marked & removed to ship with the system. The structure footprint is 12500mm x 5500mm. The piping and valves are still present as well and intact, and could be shipped as well. Pumps: All pumps are available except a condensate feed pump; all motor except one are gone and will have to be replaced. Electrical: All motors we examined are designed for 480V 60Hz. The complete system appears to be designed for US voltage at 60Hz. Pressure Vessels: All 4 pressure vessels (neutralizer, deodorizer, filter, and catch pot) have the CE mark of a pressure vessel from the European Union and we have drawings for all of them.

Individual Inspections
Neutralizer Bleacher - Asset Number 1106 Condition: New, excellent. Some minor rust on inside The Neutralizer Bleacher is carbon steel with a stainless steel manhead. It has internal coils and a top entering agitator. Diameter
of vessel is 91 inches. There is a 2 inch water and steam line into 8 injectors in the top for water dispersal during the water wash phase. There are 2 yellow 4 inch lines that are oil infeed and recycle, a white 2 inch line for bleaching earth, and a 6 inch vacuum line from the top. The bottom has a 60 degree cone for separating soapstock from oil. The agitator has three triplex blades and a 5.5KW motor running at 380V 50Hz. The agitator is fine but the motor will have to be changed to 480V 60Hz.
Vacuum System for Neutralizer Asset Number 1141 The vacuum system is a 2 stage steam ejector with a 2 barometric condenser system made by Loch-Pye in the UK and is in excellent
shape. Built in 2001. Motive steam is 10 barg pressure (150 psig)

Soapstock Tank Asset Number 1182S The soapstock tank is a rectangular carbon steel tank with an underflow weir measuring 54” x 81” x 48” high. Soapstock Tank Pump P1182S DeSmet positive displacement pump with relief valve. Size is 3x3, Model RLNA08101P. Motor is missing. The pump appears in good shape but will and bearings/seals changed.
Neutralizer Vacuum System Water Pump – Asset Number P1141 Johnson Pump B.V. Centrifugal pump size 3x2, Type CB 40-250. Missing motor. The pump appears in good shape but will need to be disassembled, cleaned, and bearings/seals changed. Earth Addition Hopper – Asset 603 This hopper is intact and was used to manually dump bleaching earth into the hopper, and then it was sucked into the bleacher 2 levels up by
vacuum and a hand ball valve. The condition is fine but it should be replaced by a proper bag dump station with dust collector.
Caustic Soda Measuring Tk – Asset 1182NA Carbon steel tank with open top for addition of dilute caustic soda into Neutralizer for refining. Size is 30 inches diameter x 43 inches tall. Condition is good. Salt Water Wash Tank – Asset 682X Carbon steel tank with open top, flat bottom measuring 65” diameter x 66” tall. Used for Neutralizer water wash water. Condition is good
Wash Water Pump – Asset P1182NA DeSmet Centrifugal pump Model NOWA3213A, size 2x1. Motor is missing. The pump appears in good shape but will and bearings/seals changed.

Vertical Leaf Bleach Filter – Asset Number 616A LFC Lochem filter Model MVDCD 1225/1250/30/15. Leaves are
stainless steel channel and stainless steel wire mesh. Condition of filter is excellent – never used. The internals look very good. The filter has all its leaves inside, and the 16 inch discharge valve. Filter has the CE European Union stamp on it, and we have the drawing. Spacing between leaves is 3 inches. The 16 inch valve is in very good condition and has an automatic actuator. CE label for Filter
Heel Tank – Asset Number 682A Vertical carbon steel tank on legs with a 30 degree cone bottom. In good shape. Size is 1250mm diameter x 2000mm s/s for an OAH of 2950mm for a capacity of 2000 liters. Condition is very good. Heel Tank Pump – Asset P1106 DeSmet centrifugal pump, model CBSD 32200C(179). Motor is missing. The pump appears in good shape but will and bearings/seals changed.
Deodorizer Vacuum System – Asset Number 841 3-stage steam ejector system with 2 barometric condensers. Operates from 150 psig steam motive force. Built under a DeSmet order by Equirepsa in Madrid, Spain. Built in 2000 and in excellent shape. Deodorizer Vacuum System Water Pump – Asset P841 Johnson Pump B.V. centrifugal pump model CB80-250. Has motor 12.6KW, 480V, 60Hz. The pump appears in good shape but will and bearings/seals changed.

Deodorizer – Asset Number 822 Condition: New, excellent. Some minor rust on interior DeSmet Rosedowns batch deodorizer carbon steel shell with coils, sparging pipes, and a “vomit” pump in the middle, steam powered (no moving parts). Size is 2300mm diameter by 5345mm tall with 1820mm legs for 6475mm OAH. MAWP shell full vacuum at 205C, MAWP coils 12 barg at 12C. Has CE stamp plus drawings. Has one manhead on the side. The exterior and interior are in excellent condition. See photos at end of this report.
Deodorizer Discharge Pump – Asset P822A DeSmet centrifugal pump, model MOWA2216A (147B). Size 2x1 built 2001. The pump appears in good shape but will and bearings/seals changed.
Polishing Filter – Asset 816 Filter is missing
CatchPot for Deodorizer Vacuum – Asset 808 CatchPot for fatty acids from deodorizer. Vessel is in excellent condition. Steam coils in the bottom. Size 602mm diameter x 2220mm tall. Carbon steel. Rated at MAWP shell full vacuum at 220C, coils MAWP 12 barg at 220C. This vessel has the CE stamp, and we have the drawings.

The existing Garoni boiler will be replaced by a reconditioned York & Shipley 300HP firetube boiler – natural gas fired, ready to use, suitable for operation in the USA.

Condensate Return Tank – Asset 1932A DeSmet condensate return tank – size 48 inches diameter x 62” s/s on legs for 78” OAH. Note there was a pump P1932A but it is missing.
Deaerator – Asset 1917 Deaerator tank for steam system. Boiler Feedwater Pumps – Asset Numbers P1917A/B Two Grundfos boiler water feedwater pumps – one redundant. Size 1x2, Type CR5-16 AFGAEHUVE, model A96452495P10205. Rated at 6.9 m3/hr at 119.7 m head, 3500 rpm. Pumps are in excellent shape – motors are missing and will have to be replaced.
