Universal Screening for All:

*Given 2-4 times a year to all students

Progress Monitoring:

Academic› Provide oral & written instructions that emphasize important points

› Provide periodic opportunities to review and practice work

› Provide immediate, corrective feedback (praise for increase in

accuracy & fluency)

Behavior› Provide special recognition or acknowledgement

› Behavior contracting

› Team meeting with student followed by parent phone call

› Positive reinforcement system

Student reads aloud, error correct if >3 seconds

Timed reading for 1 minute, errors marked with (/)

Can be used for letter naming fluency or passage reading (grade level or DIBELS)
