MATCHLESS MATERIALS The craftsmanship in an Infiniti Q70 is not limited to the exquisite ergonomics and trim. Your fingertips will seem to recognize an instinctively rewarding feel in the armrest and other surfaces. We took one-and-a-half years, surveying 360 people all over the world to ascertain the most pleasing tactile feel. With a tension and texture that match the depth and spacing of the ridges in your fingerprint, the surfaces with which you’ll most commonly engage offer the perfect touch.

FINER FABRICS The seat belt is one of the few surfaces you continually touch, so we found a variable herringbone weave for the webbing that is softer than standard fabrics. Not only is it more pleasing to the touch, but being more compliant, it allowed us to reduce the friction of the seat belt mechanisms. The seat belt is more comfortable to wear, easier to pull out and even less likely to snag the thread of your finest fabrics. We pay close attention to even the finest details.

ABUNDANT SPACE The interior of the Q70 was designed to emphasize both the rewards of spaciousness and the feeling of space. It offers excellent head and hip room for all passengers. Interior elements like the roof and windshield pillars are shaped to give a more open feeling. Each seat is rewardingly supportive and even taller rear passengers will have comfortable legroom. What’s more, a wide trunk opening gives you easy access to a spacious luggage compartment.

AUDITORY INDULGENCE Each of the 16 speakers of the Bose® Premium Surround Sound system are custom-tuned for the interior of the Infiniti Q70. Every speaker, including those mounted in the shoulders of the front seats, reproduces sound with legendary Bose® signal processing to create rich and realistic 5.1 surround sound imaging. EFFICIENT INVIGORATION No hybrid design is quite like it, and none can match its emotional intensity. The 50 kW electric motor and cutting-edge lithium-ion batteries of the Infiniti Direct response Hybrid are powerful enough to allow you to maintain cruising speed in all-electric mode. When not needed, the 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine is turned off and completely disconnected, maximizing mechanical efficiency. And yet it responds to your call for power with a stirring intensity.

SHARPER SHIFTS When you flick the magnesium paddle shifter (only with sport versions) for a lower gear, Downshift rev Matching (available only on Q70 Hybrid and Q70 3.7 models) blips the throttle to ready the engine for the new gear. MORE RESPONSIVE BRAKING With ventilated discs and aluminium 4-piston opposed front callipers and 2-piston opposed rear callipers, the available Sport Brakes provide great stopping force from both sides of the rotor at the same time for better bite, more friction and direct feel.

INNATELY RESPONSIVE BALANCE The engineering philosophy behind Infiniti performance coupés and saloons, the Front-Midship Platform, also underlies the design of the spacious Infiniti Q70. Placing the engine’s centre of mass just behind the front wheel centre line creates a near-equal front-to-rear weight ratio, with a slight front bias that you’ll feel as quicker turn-in and even balance as you accelerate out of a corner. LIGHT ON ITS FEET These stunning 20-inch alloy wheels heighten both the looks and performance of the Q70. Lightweight, thanks to both material and design, they reduce unsprung weight. That reduction of mass renders driving more exciting by allowing the suspension to be more finely tuned and by making the handling of the Q70 more responsive and more nimble.

UNRIVALLED PERFORMANCE Featuring a 1-motor, 2-clutch parallel hybrid powertrain, the Q70 Hybrid is able to go from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in less than 6 seconds. Masterfully engineered, the high-speed motor control technology enables a seamless transition between the gasoline engine and electric motor, providing a smooth and responsive ride with thrilling acceleration that goes beyond what was thought possible from a hybrid.

CRAFTING TRANQUILITY Active Noise Control (ANC) ensures that the cabin of the Infiniti Q70 offers better solace from the outside world. Intelligent technology uses a microphone in the ceiling to identify undesirable low-frequency engine sounds and neutralizes them with sound waves of the opposite phase. The result is a quieter and more peaceful driving experience which still preserves the more invigorating sounds of engine performance.

A SMARTER WAY TO SEE The Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS) on the Q70 lights not just the way ahead, but around as well. It directs light toward corners by turning the headlights in coordination with steering input to help the driver see oncoming vehicles and pedestrians, and to help you reach your destination safely.

INFINITI INTELLIGENT KEY automatically customtailors your car for you. Everything from the driver’s seat to your navigation preferences, climate control, audio and performance settings, will be set precisely the way you like it.

SECURING YOUR SPACE Distance Control Assist (DCA) employs a sensor to monitor the vehicle in front of you and helps you maintain a safe following distance. As your following distance becomes too short, the system can automatically engage the brakes as you release the gas pedal, and it can warn you if you need to brake. If your foot stays on the gas pedal while closing in on the other vehicle, it can push the pedal upwards to assist you in releasing it.

EASE IN TRAFFIC Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) with Low Speed Following (LSF) allows you to choose your desired speed, and automatically slows your vehicle in slowing traffic, going all the way to a complete stop. Then, as traffic flow picks up, it reaccelerates your vehicle to your preset speed. This visionary innovation and the personalized convenience it offers is available with a simple touch of a button.

EXTEND YOUR AWARENESS Engage reverse and the rear View Monitor displays the area directly behind. Coloured guidelines help give you an accurate sense of how close you are to objects behind, and they adjust as you turn, to show your path. Also, the front and rear parking sensors emit a beeping tone and display an icon on the rear View Monitor display when an obstacle appears near the bumpers.

PREPARED TO PROTECT Under certain braking conditions the Front-seat Pre-Crash Seat Belts automatically tighten the front seat belts – helping to restrain you and helping to maximise the effectiveness of the other occupant protection devices, such as airbags.

THE SUPPORT YOU NEED In certain rear-end collisions, the Front-seat Active Head restraints found on the Q70 can move forward to help cushion the head, to assist in reducing whiplash-type injuries.

ALWAYS LOOKING FOR DANGER Predictive Forward Collision Warning (FCW)1 can warn you of a possible collision, even when the cause is outside your field of vision. It uses radar to continuously monitor and analyze the relative speed not only of the vehicle directly ahead of you, but of the vehicle in front of that one as well. If your closing speed on either exceeds safe limits, it provides an alert and tightens the seat belt to help restrain you.

SENSES WHERE YOU CAN’T SEE The Blind Spot Intervention™ System uses sensors to help alert you to a vehicle detected entering the blind spot area in an adjacent lane and helps you avoid it. First, the warning light illuminates. Then, if you begin moving toward the occupied lane, a warning sounds. The system will even apply the brakes on the opposite side to help you guide your vehicle back to the centre of your current driving lane.

MAINTAINING YOUR LANE The Lane Departure Prevention System (LDP) uses a camera to watch for departure from the travelling lane when you haven’t signalled, emitting a warning tone if it detects drift. Then, if the drift continues, the system lightly applies selected brakes to help ease your vehicle back into the travel lane. But you never give up control. It’s designed to assist, not override.

PREPARED TO PROTECT Forward Emergency Braking scans the area ahead of you, looking for signs that an unavoidable collision might be imminent. If the system detects that deceleration is required, the driver is alerted visually and audibly. The accelerator pedal is pushed up and the brakes are applied to help slow the vehicle down. If there is a possibility of a collision, harder braking is applied and if a collision is unavoidable, the system automatically engages the brakes and tightens the front seat belts to reduce speed and mitigate damage and injury.

REVERSE WITH GREATER CONFIDENCE Backup Collision Intervention (BCI) employs an advanced set of sensors to help detect vehicles approaching from either side as you back up. If a vehicle is detected, the system alerts you – first, a warning light appears, then an audible alarm sounds, followed by feedback via the accelerator pedal force. The system can even intervene by automatically engaging the brakes to help avoid a collision.

STRONGER AND LIGHTER Ultra high-strength steel is used to help enhance your safety in case of a collision. The unique process used to create this material gives it more than twice the tensile strength of conventional steel. Not only does this ultra-strong material add to the vehicle’s resiliency, it allows us to make the vehicle lighter overall.
