MISSION Advocate on behalf of the entire industry at the guidance of our members to: Maximize value for the Canadian health system through the adoption of existing or new &innovative ICT solutions & services based on proven benefits to Canadians, Work to streamline public & private sector tenders for fairness, transparency & cost effectiveness to both vendor & customer, Promote investments in technology that: 1. Have a direct benefit to patients & providers, 2. align with international standards to maximize export opportunities for our members, 3. Have an ROI, improve efficiencies and patient outcomes. Align regulatory (HealthCanada), provincial & federal ICT standards where it’s an identified priority to the vendor community -- specific focus on certification, patient safety, credentialing initiatives. Maximize market development opportunities - national & International OPERATING PRINCIPLES We will: Represent the interests of the vendor community as a whole, balancing any one or group members interests with the interests of the broader community/industry. Ensure broad engagement & consultation with all Canadian healthcare ICT players, whether ITAC members or members-in-waiting Ensure transparency of process & decision making Promote fair, ethical & sustainable business practices among the industry & our clients Balance our activity between emerging issues and longer term strategic objectives – establish “Special Committees” when required. Rely on the good judgement of Committee documented mandate Leaders to make informed recommendations & to guide board efforts. Delegate & rely on dedicated ITAC staff (ITAC Health President & Executive Director) to provide direction & support to all board initiatives. Manage & guide their priorities.

OBJECTIVES For the next three years, our objectives shall be:

Advocacy Align where practical Provincial and Federal standards, specifications and regulations across the

country with international standards, in order to minimize variability and maximize export

opportunities for our members.

Owner    • Interoperability & Standards Committee • Regulatory Committee

Metrics/Outcomes:      • To be defined by Committee Chair(s) initially as goals but also through regular report-out to the

Board on current real-time activity. • Communicated activity and success stories.

Promote fair, transparent, and streamlined procurement processes in order to speed value

realization for our members bidding on public tenders.

Owner    • Advocacy Committee / MPD Procurement Task Force

Metrics/Outcomes    • We will survey our members to measure improvement. • We will also review the progress of our Advocacy Committee on a regular basis to measure their

progress on this issue.

Col laborat ion Raise awareness among all stakeholders (members and potential members, clients, government,

government agencies and standards bodies) of ITAC Healthcare’s mission, vision and objectives.

Provide guidance to the industry in their pursuit and maintenance of standards, certification,

patient safety, credentialing, licensing, etc. as required.

Provide networking opportunities between industry representatives and key stakeholders (clients,

government and potential partners).
