It was colonized and founded by freed American Slaves.

That liberty was shattered in 1989 when civil war ravaged the

country for 14 years killing over 200,000 people and destroying

hospitals, infrastructure, and the economy.

LIBERIA

Post war Liberia has the world's worst unemployment rate of

85%.

The majority of the country exists on less than $12 a

month.

Thousands of children

are orphaned

due to nonexisten

t healthcare,

making them

especially vulnerable

to traffickers.

Meet Rosetta.  She and twenty others, including her two small boys, hid from the rebel soldiers in her small house in Monrovia with little food or water for days.  In addition, Rosetta, had just been released from a 3 month hospital stay after suffering life threatening injuries in an car accident.  She was only released, because the rebels were approaching (they ultimately destroyed this hospital and many others.)

Their nightmare got worse as they heard the rebels enter the home next door, executing all inside.  They knew they were next.  Sure enough the rebels came, lined them up against the wall, and prepared to shoot them.

They all said their prayers and prepared to see Jesus that day.  Just as they raised their weapons to fire, a noise was heard outside.

The men quickly left, promising to return shortly.  Of course, Rosetta and the others didn't wait for their return.  Her miraculous story of faith and survival doesn't end there, but would take too long to share here.

Rosetta has lived in Charlotte, NC since 1991.  However, most of her family is still in Liberia, many in

that same house.

Those rebels did return and when they didn't find anyone they shot bullets through the entire house.  It

remains that way to this day.

Rosetta aches for her family and up to 100 others who have at some point called that place "home."  She has no idea how many live there now, probably

close to 20.  The roof leaks terribly and has needed to be replaced for 20 years.

She estimates the cost to be about $5,000 as they will have to replace the flat roof and make it pitched.

Rosetta’s Safe House Project

CitiIMPACT Join us in providing hope for these people.

Support a Child in Liberia

We will start with those that Rosetta knows personally, many nieces and nephews, who can't afford to go to school. From there we will be working with Pastor Daniel and Rosetta's dear friend Abraham to identify those in need. Pastor Daniel was with Rosetta in the house that day.  She says he is a man of incredible faith whom God has used in many miraculous ways. Pastor Daniel receives little from his flock but is committed in a way we Americans know nothing about.  He walks miles to visit the sick and needy, day in and day out, to pray with them and tell them about Jesus.

CitiIMPACT plans to bless Pastor Daniel financially for his amazing service.  Additionally, we plan to purchase him a MicroFarm so they can have a sustainable food source as well as income.

This Christmas, I choose to make a gift XCHANGE to change a life by: Giving $30 per month to sponsor a child in Liberia, allowing

him/her to attend school and feed their family. (Info packet on that child will be mailed).

Giving ____ towards the repairson Rosetta’s family home.

Giving $90 will buy vegetablesfor the microfarm to feed 500 people a year.
