ROME-The Eternal City
Rome is the capital of Italy. Today it is a modern city but it has many old monuments.
The Coliseum It is one of Rome’s symbols. Parts of this old
stadium were built almost 2,000 years ago.
The Roman Forum was the centre of Rome. It was a complex of temples and public buildings. Today it is a
popular tourist attraction.
Vatican City is the centre of the Catholic Church. It has many cathedrals, art galleries and museums.
Michelangelo painted the Sistine Chapel.
The city is crossed by the river Arno. The oldest bridge is Ponte Vecchio.
The Duomo is the most famous monument in Florence.
Florence has spectacular parks, like the Boboli Gardens.
The Palazzo Vecchio (the Old Palace) is the Town
