It is proposed to empanel 25 experts as Assessors for following activities: Hospital and SHCO accreditation assessments Pre-accreditation Entry Level Certification (of hospitals and SHCO) assessments CGHS inspections ECHS inspections Resource faculty for various education and training Any other similar work The minimum qualification and experience requirements are shown in Annexure-1. However, preference shall be given to senior/ retired experts. Terms of Reference for such engagement/empanelment are as follows: 1. Such experts shall not be the employee of NABH/QCI and shall not claim any benefits other than mentioned here. 2. Initial engagement/empanelment shall be for a period of two years subject to satisfactory completion of assignment and requirement of the Board. Engagement/ empanelment offer may be renewed after completing two year term. 3. Assignment include extensive travel to any part of the country and assessor should be willing to travel by any possible mode of transport. 4. Such Assessor shall carry out such a minimum number of on-site assessments so that s/he spend 15-20 assessment days in a month. Assessment day is the day of actual assessment/ inspection is carried out. Such activity may involve travel on the same day or on any other days. 5. Remuneration shall be paid as per policy of QCI. 6. NABH shall decide the place of assessment and assessor shall not refuse. Application and selection process Positions shall be advertised in newspaper/ website and applications shall be invited in the prescribed application form as attached as Annexure-2. Application shall be screened to shortlist candidates for interview (may be on a 1:5 basis) Shortlisted candidates shall be called for face to face interview with an Interview Committee for a more thorough assessment of his/her suitability to be an assessor. No TA/DA shall be paid for attending interview. Interview can also be conducted by Video conference /skype. Shortlisted candidates after interview shall be invited to attend 5-days Assessor training course at their own expenses and also a fee of Rs. 10000 + Service Tax shall be charged. Successful candidates shall be engaged as Assessor as per TOR. NABH reserves the right to select candidates based on its requirements and geographical distribution.

Annexure-1

The minimum eligibility criteria remain the same as for regular assessor training course as detailed below: For clinicians: MBBS with minimum of 10 years of experience of which a

minimum of 5 years should be in hospital.

MBBS with Post-graduate Degree or Diploma with minimum

of 7 years of experience (post PG) of which a minimum of 3

years should be in hospital.

For administrators: Post-graduate in healthcare management/ administration

(Degree or Diploma) or equivalent with minimum of 10

years of experience (post PG) of which a minimum of 5

years should be in healthcare management/ administration

For nurses: GNM with minimum of 15 years of experience of which a

minimum of 10 years should be in hospital.

BSc (Nursing) with minimum of 12 years of experience of

which a minimum of 8 years should be in a

hospital/academic setting.

MSc (Nursing) with minimum of 10 years of experience (post

PG) of which a minimum of 5 years should be in a

hospital/academic setting.

Desirable

Work experience in an accredited hospital

Training/Course in Heath care quality

Attendance at three day NABH Program on Implementation course of NABH

Core competencies expected in an assessor

Assessors are the face of NABH and represent NABH in the field. They are peer reviewers who

assess the performance of healthcare organizations against laid down standards and identify

opportunities to achieve improved performance.

Assessor Requirements

Knowledge of hospital practices

Understanding of NABH standards

Computer and internet skills: Creating and editing documents, spreadsheets and

presentations; e-mail. Familiarity with e-learning methods is desirable.

Physical and mental stamina
