Brief History

• Established in 1920 - First Wire Drawing Plant of India

• Rod Mill was setup in 1935

• JEMCO (Jamshedpur Engineering & Machine Manufacturing Company) was setup in

1934 and got merged with ISWPL in 1991

• ISWP was closed during 1998 – 2003

• Was put under BIFR in 2001

• Tata Steel took over in December 2003 with 92 % share holding

• Plant was restored and production stabilized

• New Business of Electrodes started in 2009

• First TBEM Assessment done in 2012 and was put under 450 - 500 Band

• Got delisted from CSE in March’13 – Now an unlisted company

• Presently a positive net worth company and has come out of BIFR

• Re-started Fastener Division on 20.12.2013

• Nail Business started in November 2014
