Create an outline of your curriculum (it could be a unit, a grade level, your whole thing.

Decide on the number of max points you want to award for each activity.

Add up how many points each quest is worth and then tally up how much all of the quests are worth.
Decide how many ranks you want the students to go through and divide your total of points by that number. This will tell you how many points each rank is worth.
You could also have ranks based on activities completed. In that case, you will need to list what activities need to be completed to achieve a rank.
