Presidents Report

There were some long sleeve shirts & jack-

ets displayed, which had been requested by

members for those days that were too hot to

wear a heavy jacket, but still needed to pro-

tect from the sun. Those members that were

interested were asked to see Glenda after the

meeting to get an idea on how many she

needed to order. They would range in price

from $35.00 to $40.00.

There are still a couple of IHC bike plates

available from the Department of Transport

for a change over fee of $24.00.

Members can see Glenda if they are inter-

ested.

The Presentation Day that has been held

in the middle of the day due to past popu-

larity will stay the same.

Bob mentioned that the proposal to increase

the fee for the Sunday rides to $5.00 would

continue until the next AGM.

John Presland has suggested that at the next

AGM if we can ask for a show of hands to

raise the membership fees by $10.00 and

abolish the fee for the Sunday rides we

would raise the same amount of money.

Those that went on regular rides would in

fact pay for the increase in their member-

ship by just attending 2 rides.

Captains Report

Midweek PM 9-7-2014 13 Rid-

ers 1 passenger

In the absence of vice-captain who called in

sick and captain who went ahead to Yarloop

to set up afternoon tea, John P. led the group

along Forrest Hwy, Myalup/Harvey Rd,

Government Rd, and Johnson Rd to the

tourist gazebo where Amanda & I had after-

noon tea waiting. Unfortunately Faye had an

incident resulting in a footrest breaking off

which took a bit to sort out. Thanks to John

C. who replaced it with one of his rear foot-

rests enabling Faye to complete the return

journey. It was a very happy group who en-

joyed afternoon tea and socialising, heading

for home about 315pm. Thanks to Amanda

for helping out.

Restoration Ride 13-7-2014 23 Rid-

ers 4 Passengers

Waiting at Entertainment Centre car park I

was beginning to wonder if I had the correct

day. Finally riders started arriving with an

array of old bikes. Glen explained there was

no back-up and no route sheet as we were

just going to ride out to Boyanup visit Norm

& Margaret then continue on to Murray &

Sharon's for morning tea, and look at their

collection of vintage stuff. There were a few

extras who journeyed on 4 wheels. With

good weather it was a very successful day.

Thanks to Norm & Margaret, Murray &

Sharon and of course Kelly who buzzed

around making sure everything was done.

Busso Boys AM Ride 16-7-2014 8 Riders 1

Passenger

9 starters including 2 Bunburyites rode thru

Vasse through the hills around Yallingup fin-

ishing at Dunsborough for coffee then fol-

lowed the back roads on return to Busselton

finishing about 1200.

Midweek AM 23-7-2014 11 Riders

1 Passenger

While I was enjoying the lovely weather in

Sydney and who knows what the vice-

captain was doing, John C. was in charge of

the ride to Capel to sample the new bakery.

Unfortunately it turned into the comedy ride.

I am led to believe that there was major traf-

fic mayhem trying to get in and out of Bun-

bury due to truck hitting bridge over the

Preston River and several impatient drivers

having end-to-ends resulting in John having

to be a bit innovative and ride the median

strip to reach Dolphin Centre. When the

group finally left the chaos and arrived in

Capel there was no power, so no bakery de-

lights to be had however the group, including

some Busso’s, found a small café, The Fat

Bird, with power where they managed to all

cram in. Unfortunate for some of the gentile

ladies of Capel who meet there for Coffee.

Thanks to John C. for herding everyone in

the right direction. It was a happy ending for

Bunbury & Busso members. I received a

memo from John "Never Ever deputise "JC"

to be ride leader again".

Mick Turners Rigid & Girder 27-7-2014

22 Participants

Weather not looking real good at start, how-

ever 18 riders & Bolt with 2 passengers in a

rigid U.S. jeep left the Entertainment centre

travelling thru Eaton, Waterloo, Burekup and

Ferguson to Mick's Mobile morning tea in

Wellington N.P. After everyone finished and

headed off, a lonely rider came along expect-

ing a cappuccino, John C. who had mixed up

the departure point Ho Hum. Riding thru

Ferguson, Boyanup, Dardanup West,

Gelorup we arrived at our destination where

the barbeque was in full flight. As always

TEAM TURNER did a magnificent job plan-

ning and organising the entire event. Well

Done and Thank You.

Busso Boys Midweek 30-7-2014 8 Riders

Bit of a miserable morning however, the

lonely captain meet Busso's at Rotary Park.

After following Darryl around the back-

blocks we arrived at Yallingup for morning

tea. Where there was a fair bit of discussion

on various subjects. I decided to back to

Bunbury while the remainder headed for

Smiths Beach and Canal rocks where they

did a bit of sun-worshipping and meditation

before returning back to Busselton, a total of

approx. 100kms

Country Run 10-8-2014 21 Riders 3

Passengers

The day turned into a magnificent spring day

for the ride formally known as the Capel

Country run. Travelling Forrest Hwy, Clifton

Rd," good old cow poo road" Alma Rd the

group made their way thru Burekup to Dow-

dell’s Line, Ferguson Rd arriving at park at

Dardanup where we had morning tea wait-

ing. It was a good social gathering and it was

good to see some Manji riders and especially

good to see Ron Cassels arrive with Muriel

Melvin, following his run of ill health. By

about 1100 people decided they better leave

although I think they would have stayed for

rest of day. Thanks to Neville W. & Cathy

for back-up and course planning also to Lyn

B. for helping once again. It appears that the

Mandurah mob encountered bad weather for

their planned ride and just managed to make

it to a coffee shop.

DON’T FORGET THAT BACK-UP

WILL BE $5.00 COMMENCING WITH

MICK TURNER'S RUN

General Business

Bob briefly discussed the Lake Perkolilli

Run and told members that there was infor-

mation and expressions of interest forms

available.

Ray Jordan also said that he has infor-

mation on the event if members wished to

contact him.

Bob said Bolts email would be discussed

further at Committee level, and a response

would be sent to him and tabled at the next

General meeting in Correspondence out.

After a query from Rod Chessell regarding

donations, Bob stressed that anyone of our

members can pass around a hat and collect

for charitable organizations. They just can’t

say it is from the IHC incorporated, it has

to be stated that the donation is from the

Members of the IHC.

Faye said that the publications from the

Vintage Motorcycle Club of the UK would

be in future given to Amanda to incorporate

into the Library.

That way all members are able to have ac-

cess to them.

After a query from Russell Jeffrey to add to

one of the proposed changes to the Consti-

tution, Bob suggested that it would delay

the constitutional changes even further if it

was done at this late date, and would be

better done just before the next AGM.

Ross Eaton said that Ray Jordan was now

unable to do the back-up for the Wheatbelt

Run and asked for volunteers.

Glenda volunteered on behalf of Patto, and

Ross Carn also volunteered.

Ross Eaton said that the course was already

mapped out and the route sheets just need-

ed to be printed.

John Lewin spoke about Les James the

state leader of the Black Dog Ride who was

tragically killed on the ride, and said that

family chose to have the ride continue in

his honour.
