Issue No 23 Term 3 Week 7 Date 4 September 2020
We make a difference, every child matters every day.
A note from Mrs Swanson - Principal
Courteous Superstars It has been my pleasure to meet students, parents and community members at the gate every morning this term. Whilst it has been a great way to get to know everyone better, I also am able to observe the behaviour of the ABPS students in the community. I need to let you know how proud I am to be the principal of a school where the students exhibit such impressive manners and positive behaviours on the way to school. This includes but is not limited to waiting in the correct safe space before crossing the pedestrian crossing, greeting community members politely, giving way to others and looking after younger students.
Parenting Corner This week: Help kids tap into their inner resources
Term 3 Week 8 07/09 Henny Penny Hatchlings visit (Y3/4) Term 4 Week 2 23/10 Book Week dress up day
Bike Riding It's wonderful to see so many students riding their bike to school at the moment. A reminder that NSW law states that bicycle riders must wear an approved bicycle helmet securely fitted and fastened on the rider's head.
Enrolment changes Our current enrolment numbers are quite high, and this has necessitated a few changes to the enrolment process. All applications for enrolment will need to be supported by a 100 point residential address check.
P&C Association
We are getting ready to kick off our mango fundraising drive. Notes and order forms will be sent home next week. Mango Trays will be sold for $25 per tray.

Chess Competition
Round 1 of the Chess
Competition has seen some
strong matches. We have seen
Ruben and Prateechi battle it out
two weeks in a row as their
games resulted in draws.
Round 2 of the competition starts
in Week 8 with the final rounds in
Term 4.
It has been fabulous to see the good sportsmanship of
Anna Bay students as they have competed in chess this year. I look forward to watching some more high quality chess in the coming weeks!
Library News Coming Soon! Book tasting in the Library!
No we won’t be eating books, but Stage 3
students will have the chance to book a table with their friends to try out some new books whilst they have a small snack. Hopefully they will leave with a new list of books
to read!
