Prof. Vijay Bhalla
Welcome to Professors!! New additions in Lloyd family:
Dr. D.K. Majumdar
Dr Majumdar is a renowned academician with more than 13
years of industrial experience and more than 20 years of
academic expertise at DIPSAR, Delhi University. Sir has
guided innumerable M.Pharm and Ph.D students who are now
the Presidents and Vice-presidents of big Pharma giants and Dr.
Majumdar takes great pride in them . His key areas of research
are Screening of Plant Lipids for Biological Activity, Ocular
Delivery of conventional & particulate dosage forms, Delivery
of Therapeutic Peptide and Studies on crystal forms of Drugs.Dr. Manish Gupta
His research work focuses on ligand and structure based drug design
approaches. These include homology modeling and protein structure
prediction techniques, molecular docking, molecular dynamics
simulation, molecular optimization methods, QSAR studies and
synthetic medicinal chemistry. His research work bestowed him
several research papers in the very specialized and peer-reviewed
journals like Journal of Medicinal Chemistry (ACS), Journal of
Chemical Information and Modeling (ACS), Bioorganic and
Medicinal Chemistry (Science direct) etc.
Dr. Gupta is recipient of Career Award for Young Teacher and a research grant from AICTE, New Delhi
(2010). In 2011, he received BOYSCAST fellowship from Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi for
Post doc research at the Structural Biology Center, University of Kansas, Lawrence, KS USA. He also received a
research grant under the FAST-TRACK scheme of Science and Engineering Board, DST, New Delhi in 2012. In
May-2014, he joined as a Professor at School of Pharmacy, Lloyd Institute of Management and Technology, Greater
Noida (UP), India.
PLACEMENT
The placement scenario at Lloyd School of Pharmacy for the
session 2013-14 has so far been fairly good. About 15 companies
participated in the recruitment process. The prominent recruiting
organisations are Indian Immunologicals, Besins Healthcare,
Lupin, Unichem, Nutralife, KMS Pharma, Genpact Technologies
etc.
The overall placements for batch 2013-14 has reached nearly 80%.
The highest pay package offered to a B. Pharm student is Rs 3.6
lakhs per annum, rising within six months to package of 4.5 Lakhs
p.a.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT
An industrial visit for students of B. Pharm is organized annually. This visit allows the students to explore their knowledge in
the various manufacturing and analytical aspects of pharmaceutical products.
In session 2013-14 students visited various pharmaceutical companies namely Arbro pharmaceuticals, Kirti Nagar
(Production, Q.A. and Q.C. Department), Nextwave Pharmaceuticals , Paonta Sahib a WHO-GMP certified, GLP certified
company (Production of Tablet, Capsules, Liquid and external application) and Copmed, a unit of Mankind, Paonta Sahib.
All our recruiters have expressed great satisfaction with the performance of the students in interviews and group
discussions.

GALA EVENT TO WELCOME NEW STUDENTS th
School of Pharmacy welcomes its 10 batch of B.Pharm. students
thLloyd has a culture of welcoming its new batch every year with a lot of enthusiasm. This year too, we welcomed the 10
batch of pharmacy students with blessings from the eminent people in the field of pharmacy.
The event was filled with entertainment , to bring the freshers closer to the seniors in college.
Industrial training is an important ingredient of pharmacy
curriculum, being essential for student's professional
advancement. It is universally regarded as a vital component of
pharmacy education and is an indicator of the extent of industry
institute interaction.
Lloyd School of Pharmacy provides a platform to students by
having a collaboration with reputed pharmaceutical companies
which provides our students an opportunity to learn the technical
and recent advancement in the field and skills involved in the
manufacturing and analytical aspects of pharmaceutical products.
The students got training in various well established pharmaceutical companies like Unimax Laboratories, Abyss
Pharmaceuticals, Franklin Pharmaceuticals, Pharmasynth Formulations, Radicura Pharmaceuticals and Rajasthan Drug &
Pharmaceutical Limited etc. in their various departments like Production, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Drug
Regulatory Affairs etc.
thLloyd felicitated Mr. Atul K. Nasa, President of 65 Indian Pharmaceutical Congress held in Delhi-NCR in December
2013. Mr Nasa has been awarded the “Regulatory Person of the Year award” by 54th IPC Welfare Trust, Pune in the year
2009. Also, awarded the “Outstanding Young Professional Achievement Award” during the 20th Annual Conference of
IPGA and Recipient of “Best Alumni Award” by DIPSAR, New Delhi.
Mr. Nasa is an important member of the Academic Advisory Board of Lloyd.

School of Pharmacy would like to take a moment to highlight
the following accomplishments by its faculty, students and
staff
Indian Pharmacy Congress is an Annual Event of the pharmacy profession, attended by the eminent people of the
pharmaceutical world. Prof. Vijay Bhalla, Director, Lloyd School of Pharmacy, was the key person in the Organizing
Committee and Chairman, Registration.

Orientation Day – To simplify the move from school to college and

and strengths. Eminent people from the world of pharma, Mr.
AK.Nasa (Drug Control Officer, Delhi) and Mr. P.P. Sharma (Vice
President, Pharmacy Council of India) blessed the freshers.

were held. Students participated in celebrations at Siri Fort Auditorium organized by Pharmacy Council of India
Health camp – Pharmacy students organized a camp to check the vital parameters like Blood pressure and blood sugar
of the staff and students

Alumni meet - It is always a beautiful memory down the lane , when ex-studnets come visiting. An alumni meet was
organized in Feb 2014. It was an awesome feeling to welcome the now Managers and Senior Scientists, who were once
our notorious students.

stThe 21 century has witnessed a shift in paradigm in women's ability to accomplish various responsibilities ranging
from home to the society and to the corporate world. In the modern era, they are well educated and therefore, their work
profile is not limited to the managing home and household. It is now extended to the larger domain and they proved
themselves efficient and successful in many Socio-Economic fronts.
To bring out the competency in the women Pharma-Graduates to face and manage social and corporate
responsibilities, the School of Pharmacy, Lloyd Institute of Management and Technology (LIMT) conduct special seminars
and one-to-one interactions by the distinguished women personalities who proved themselves successful to accomplish
their tasks in different fields against all odds. This greatly increases the self-confidence of the women Pharma-Graduates
which in-turn empowers them to accomplish their responsibilities more efficiently and to make their dream true. We
highlight the role of women in the society and make them confident to get what they want from the world.
Lloyd Centre for Entrepreneurship Development
Entrepreneurship is a process for start-up and setting a new business. It involves the identification of thirst areas having
market potential, applying new ideas, launching new products andestablishment of a business. The economic and social
acceptance of a new product/business ensures its global and long-term sustainability. In one-hand, entrepreneurship
provides valuable products to the consumers while on the other-hand it bestows economic stability as well as social
regards to the entrepreneur.
At Lloyd Centre for Entrepreneurship Development, the followings essential elements, necessary for a successful
entrepreneur, are taught to students :
Self-confidence: Believe in yourself and positive attitude to accomplish challenging tasks
Analytical skills: Critical assessment of the product and processes
Leadership quality: Ability to take lead
We provide necessary training by conducting special seminars and workshops by the successful entrepreneurs.
Students start their own venture like Retail Pharmacies just after their B.Pharm.
