Issue 9 12th April 2017
Dear Families,
ANZAC DAY MARCH ARRANGEMENTS
Yesterday at our final assembly for the term, Gr 3/4
Jack led a special pre -ANZAC Day assembly. It was
a very moving and respectful experience.
During the holidays students are invited to march
as a school group in the Launceston ANZAC Day
parade on Tuesday April 25th. The parade moves
through the Launceston CBD starting at the
Princess Square and ending at the Launceston
Cenotaph in Royal Park.
All students wishing to march need to meet Mr
Cramp in the “white zone” at Princes Park at 10am
in full school uniform.
Students need to be collected by parents after the
march and BEFORE the 11am service in front of
Launceston College main entrance on Paterson Street.
PARENT PARKING
Drop off and pick up times out the front of our
school are congested at the best of times. To ease
congestion there are signs at the front of our
school that designate no standing zones and no parking zones. Please ensure you adhere to all
signage.
The other source of parent frustration at the
moment is people parking over the entry and exit
driveways to the carpark, or parking immediately
behind other vehicles, essentially “blocking” the
other vehicle in. Please take note of where you park
to ensure you are not obstructing the flow of
traffic. Thank you for your support in this matter.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS
Today is the students last day for the term, and as
I reflect on Term 1 it has been a busy but very
successful term. We have continued our strong
focus on student learning, but also enjoyed new
opportunities such as the Gr 3/4 swimming lessons
and the Lego competition. A highlight was the
success at the LSSSA Athletics Carnival. Remember
tomorrow is Moderation day for staff and a state
wide Pupil Free day. I hope you have a relaxing
break and I look forward to students returning
refreshed for a productive term two.
