Some highlights of the week

1. Online Summer Camp, Mr. Nishit Acharya, Principal, RPS ROPDA primary school. With the support of Ravi J. Matthai Centre for Educational Innovation and Agastya International Foundation, Acharya has started Online Summer Camp from April 4, 2020 for 150 members comprising teachers, students, NGO and government staff, and some private school staff. This is an idea that we are supporting since it provides a good way of engaging children who are confined to their homes. Every day one activity (art and craft related) is given to students. In two days, 80 plus students have submitted their activities through photographs. The camp starts at 10 a.m. and by 5 p.m. the students and other members submit their reports.

Summer camp activates post on FACEBOOK and WhatsApp.

RPS ONLINE SUMMER CAMP REPORT

2. Online ICT workshops for teachers: In continuation The ICT workshops reported in the first week are still on, with now the four teachers conducting it daily because of demand. 12 workshops have been completed, with each having 50 participants. A similar activity by Rajkiran Chavan of Solapur Maharashtra (a partner teacher of SIR Foundation that is supported by RJMCEI) is on, covering 2500 teachers. The online classes for students in Mehsana are also going on. We are strongly supporting these initiatives, since the Covid crisis has given an opportunity to spread ICT awareness and skills among teachers.
