Marketing literature for insulation products on the internet and in printed media often address the flame spread index (FSI) and smoke developed index (SDI) as measured in accordance with ASTM E84 or comparable standards. entire sales team is now NIA Energy Appraisers certified by the National Inspection Testing

Certification Corporation.

Energy Appraisers conduct a thorough evaluation of a facility's mechanical piping systems,

equipment, and or processes. They interview facility personnel and visually inspect insulated or

uninsulated mechanical pipe systems. After gathering the information the appraisers analyze

the results using the US Department of Energy recognized, customized software 3E Plus®

(Version 4.0). They identify and document actual energy loss in BTUs, energy cost /lost, and

emissions in uninsulated or inadequately insulated systems. Further, they identify the potential

savings and emissions reduction as well as recommend insulation upgrades, insulation

replacements, determine the optimal insulation thickness or recommend maintenance programs

all related to energy savings. The final report calculates the potential return on investment.

Through initiatives such as being certified Energy Appraisers, Dyplast continually strives to be a

dedicated industry partner offering consultation to and solutions for our customers. Call upon

our technical or sales staff for assistance.
