Introduction• Most OIC countries relies their country
revenue from export of natural resources such as oil or gas and agricultural.
• Muslim countries only share 13% of global tourism market (World Bank, 2012)
• Limited exploration and less promotion for other OIC members other than Turkey, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Morocco.
• The incident of 9/11
Islamic Tourism
• Tourism is act of powerful motive to visit places of interest
• It has direct and indirect contribution• Bakar (2011) mentioned that Islam is
judges by two principles : 1) tawhid-compliance at the level of ideas and beliefs2) Shariah compliance at the level of practice and ethical values.
Factors that influence Muslim travelers in choosing Islamic
tourism destination• Kovjanic (2014) reported the two
factors in deciding tourist destination for Muslim travellers
1. Push factor is reason that discourage Muslim tourist to visit their holiday destination.
2. Pull factors is the things that attract tourists to visit the tourism destination
Factors that influence Muslim travelers in choosing Islamic
tourism destination• There are three attributes that relate
to satisfaction of travelers towards holiday destination (Khan et al, 2014) : 1) destination image, 2) religious motivation and 3) service quality
• Rahman (2014) : 1) friendliness of local people, 2) local varieties of halal foods as well as good value for money

- There are 2 principles in developing Islamic tourism- The successful of other OIC member can be a role model in developing this industry- Pull and push factor that influence Muslim tourist in choosing vacation destination- Promotion is essential thing in this industry
