During the wellness week at Mbongolwane hospital staff members were encourage to visit the wellness clinic. The wellness clinic took place during Novem-ber 2007. The main aim of the wellness clinic was to offer services such as counselling , blood pres-sure, and blood sugar testing as well as first aid. HGT, BMI, VCT were among the vital signs that were checked there.

The management also attended the wellness clinic during the week as you can see in the pictures our HR Manager Mr. S M Shezi, Nurse Manager Ms L L Mbele and Medical manager Dr. V M Geyer.

Its better to know your body so that if there is something wrong you can treat it as early as you can. People should learn to do a regular check up to alleviate their lives.

The open day was at-tended by the community at large and other dignitaries from Eshowe, iNkosi yendawo, and Izinduna as well as Dis-trict office staff. The main aim of the open day was to commemorate those with HIV/AIDS and those who died be-cause of HIV/AIDS. The other reason was to improve service delivery by launching of quality teams. There were four quality teams from the institutuion. There was Shosholoza team, Perfect team, Kopanang team, and Shayangazo-zonke team. All four teams presented service one should expect when visiting the hospital. Guess speaker of the day was Baba reverend Gumede. I am grateful to get this opportunity to write something to be read by the whole of KZN prov-ince. I came here at Mbongolwane hospital in Au-gust 2007 as PRO Intern. I got a very warm wel-come from the staff of Mbongolwane hospital. When I came here I found that there is no PRO who is going to show me the way the job is done. I had to do all by myself without any mentor. But with the assistance from Ngwelezane PRO Mr. M Gumede who put me in a picture of what is really happening in the field I was then able to do most of the things.

The thing I would like to ask from the staff of my institution is the support. Please ngicela ningiphe amandla guys! I hope we going to continue working together with a sense of solidarity and common purpose in this year 2008.
