workshop on the “A-B-C’s of Grant Writing.” This workshop will focus on key parts of a successful proposal
and how to write a winning grant proposal. We will touch on the overall proposal development process;
board and staff roles; how and where to look for funding sources; and how to keep funders happy.
Workshop trainer is Gigi Cairel, Capacity Building Manager, with Hi‘ilei Aloha LLC. Gigi has over 25 years
experience in community development working with nonprofits and successfully applying for and managing
grants. She has served as a funder in both the public and private sectors, as a grantee, resource developer,
trainer and technical assistance provider for a wide range of community-based nonprofits.
