Is Indochina safe for single ladies to travel to?
Indochina regions attracts millions of visitors every year for the purpose of tourism, this is a
booming industry that is still needed to grow up as the potential is very vibrant, however, there
are some concerns as Is Indochina safe for single ladies to travel to For years I have
dreamed of vacationing in Vietnam, and finally I have decided to make my way to this part of the
world, I come across many online tour booking that arranging Visa, flights ( perhaps) and a trip
to Vietnam and one of the best and reputable offers come with Luxury Travel Vietnam
www.luxurytravelvietnam.com. As a single Persian girl I have never been to South-East of Asia
and all my friends have never been to Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and in general any
destinations in Indochina regions. I started my trip and I am excited now.
My trip to Vietnam and Indochina started perfectly. As planned, I was picked up by my guide at
Hanoi airport by a very welcoming representative of my tour organizer, the Luxury Travel
Vietnam. It was mid-night as we drove through the empty streets of Hanoi, the capital of
Vietnam in the early hours of the morning.
-
My trip started the first morning, and I feel like I am so lonely, as a single lady I was a bit
nervous, however, my tour guide Ms. Trang was picked me up, me and my her in a city that is
known as the its grand beauty and charms, yea, I saw people are driving the scooters in streets
and the more I visit, the more I liked the city, o gosh, I could not believe the numbers of
motorbikes in the streets, driving and making noise like bees in the bee farm.
First day I visited Hanoi and I felt in love ( slowly) with the beauty and differences of this oriental
city, I know I have Laos and Cambodia to visit as well and I am gonna be ready for more
surprices in my trip to Vietnam and Indochina. Being in a Luxury bespoke trip and driven
around meant that I was never expected to walk the streets on my own, though the city was
very safe, I say it because I went out at night alone and have had some fun in the streets of old
town in Hanoi, it was amazing to see how locals interact with the numbers of tourists have been
sitting around each corner having beer and the tasty local foods, some groups of travelers have
been talking, laughing and have had a lot of fun with the locals. O Hanoi .
I followed my trip to Sapa, a northern mountainous region that attracts travelers for the trekking,
home stay and visiting the huge lash valleys with the locals together was a nice and new
-
experience to me, I am not that lazy but my tour organizer, the Luxury Travel Vietnam have
been suggested 3 levels of trekking to me, the easy level, medium and the experienced trekking
pass, hmmm,I chosen the medium level and after all I trusted my leg flexibility. Overnight stay in
local houses as home-stay arrangement was also a nice and unbeaten local experience.
Back to Hanoi with an overnight train, where a driver picked me up to the mother of nature, the
Halong Bay, you know, Halong was my dream since the first time I saw it through internet.
Arrived and welcomed aboard the cruise, I loved the beauty of the bay, there were a bay which
allow you to cruise through the hundreds of karts limestone all covered by green chameleon like
trees, sea food served for the lunch and latter on cruise stopped for few hours adventure activity
such as kayaking and boating through the floating houses where local live the life on the waters.
Overnight sleeping on a cruise it was a nice experience for me, i was a bit bored because a
single lady traveling with no friend, well, no matter, I went out and I met with some other fellow
travelers from New Zealand, Turkey, Thailand, USA, we have a long talk about each other
traveling routes through Indochina on a deck of the cruise.
Drive back to Hanoi and then flight to Danang, the central Vietnam attracts travelers because of
its ancient and historical beauty, said my guide, well, during 3 days and 2 night staying in this
area I have been enabled to visit Hue, and Hoi An as well, Hue and Hoi An were so peaceful
specially at night where I took a walk along the Hoi An river side.
Flight to Ho Chi Minh City, this hustling bustling city is somewhere new until now, saw people
dealing at every corner, ladies offering street foods, xe om (motor bike drivers) come to you
asking to give you a ride IF the Cyclo guys allow them, (Cyclo is a traditional form of transport in
Vietnam), my guide took me to hotel for a check in, I got ready to go out and enjoy the night life
in this metropolis city, the district 1 and the benh thanh market area to have some chit chat with
2 other single ladies that I met in my hotel. It was a great night as we met some other local girls,
together we had some ice lemon tea with the sun flower seeds, as this is a traditional drink in
Vietnam.
Mekong Delta, was the next and last destination to visit in Vietnam, Ms. Thu my tour guide
picked me up from my hotel to visit the delta region together in a 2 days 1 night. It was another
great and extremely different place to me to visit and experience, we drove to Cai be and Cai
rong where local sells almost anything on the waters, the floating markets were truly a unique
things to me, we board a cruise in the delta and pass the waterways to cross the Cambodian
-
borders toward the Capital Phnom Penh in Cambodia, this is where I started the second chapter
of my trip to Vietnam and Indochina.
Cambodia, a Khmer kingdom with extraordinary unique history, from ancient pre-angkorian to
the Angkor wat temples and the bizarre contemporary status of Khmer rouge, all and all were
waiting for an adventurous tourist like me to experience. Yes, Indochina is safe for single
ladies to travel to. Thats why I am here and I loved every day of my trip to Indochina
Unfortunately because of my tight schedule I could not have more than 6 days in Cambodia, we
started to visit capital Phnom Penh and the most touching part of my visit were the Khmer rouge
genocide field whih date back to the mid 70s when the Pol Pot and his communist khmer rouge
movement ruled the country from 1975 to late 1979, however, it is happy that those bloody days
ere ended and now Cambodia experience the improvement, tourism is 1 of the major ways to
boost the country as well.
After Phnom Penh, I flight to Siem reap, where the great Temples of Angor wat located, this is
where history meets the culture, after check in at my hotel. I went to the old market area in Siem
reap to have some shopping and end with having my dinner in the same area.
Visiting temples of Angkor was my best bet in Cambodia, I have been off from hotel early in the
morning as this is the best time to start a visit, I am not a professional photographer but I advise
-
if you readers visit Indochina and Angkor then you must leave as early as possible to take a
nice shots from the whole area as well as the main Angkor temple.
The visit to the temples of Angkor is fabulous and it was one of the most dedicated parts of my
visit during my trip to Indochina. There are several options for visiting the Angkor park, the
tickets are sold from single days visit to 3 days and 1 weeks visit, my tour planner in Luxury
Travel Vietnam arranged a three day visit for me.
After the temple exploration, tonight I enjoyed my dinner with Apsara dinner and dance show
arrangements. This was amazing; it got me familiar with the story behind this dance which is
mixed with the cultures of Cambodian people.
Trip to Laos, this is my last destination in the region, I flew to Luang Prabang, a city that has
been registered as a UNESCO heritage center, its another unique city, I walked through the
night market and have got some Souvenirs for my beloved little cousin and family as well.
I woke up at 05:00 in the morning to get ready and out around 05:30 where there are an alms
giving ceremony, there are lines of monks that walk through main temple area and receiving
-
goods from the locals, to me was worth it! I learned quite a few pointers too about Aspiring
Novices and Monks inspiring work. Next day I flight to Vientiane, the capital of Laos to spend
some 2 days and end my trip to Indochina in there.
Vientiane is capital and as inspired by name, it is the largest populated city in Laos, the city is
located on the bank of the Mekong River, there are not much traffic compare to Hanoi in
Vietnam, streets were peaceful and people were smiley as usual. My trip to Laos was started by
visiting a quite interesting place such as victory monument, Buddha park, Wat si saket and Lao
national museum.
My last day in Vientiane, I am somehow sad, because my trip to Indochina come to an end,
but very happy that a trip it was a great chance to explore, learn, touch and experience a trip of
life-time, I spend my last day to relax and enjoy some rejuvenation in an spa near my hotel.
Fly back home, the last day and hours of my trip to 3 amazing country, the Vietnam, Cambodia
and Laos, I recommend visiting this part of the world and if you are questioning Is Indochina
safe for single ladies to travel to then I will loudly say yes, it is safe to travel to Vietnam,
Cambodia and Laos.
