    NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard which is identical with ISO .7435 :1983 ‘Slottad set screws with long dog. point’issued by the International Organization for Standardization ( ISO ) was adopted by the .Bureau ofIndian Standards on the recommendations of the Bolts, Nuts and Fasteners Accessories SectionalCommittee and approval of the Medical Instruments, General and Production Engineering DivisionCouncil.

The other standards in this series are given below:

IS 15628:2005 Slotted set screws with flat point

IS 15629:2005 Slotted set screws with cone point

IS 15631 :2005 Slotted set screws with cup point

Earlier the above subjects were movered by IS 2388:1971 ‘Slotted grub screws ( first revision)’ and thesizes were covered from M 1 to M 24 whereas this draft covers the sizes from M 1.2 to M 12. TheCommittee responsible for formulation of these standards decided that after the publication of abovestandards, IS 2388:1971 which earlier covered the above subjects, shall be withdrawn.

The text of ISO Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard withoutdeviations. Certain terminology and conventions are, however, not identical to those used in IndianStandards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:
