Ionad an Chúrsa | Course LocationColáiste na Rinne, established in 1905, is an Irish Language College in the Waterford Gaeltacht

Students will board at Coláiste na Rinne which will provide the location for day time tuition and after-school activities. Participants will be registered as students of Meánscoil San Nioclás which will co-ordinate their Transition Year Programme.

Clár seachtainiúil | Weekly Programme Students will follow the standard TY programme with numerous extra-curricular activities. Students will be required to be on campus by 6pm on Sunday of each week and to be off-campus by 4pm on Friday.

Academic Tuition Academic class room tuition will take place through the medium of the Irish Language, Monday to Friday. 4 weeks of work placement off-campus is an essential component of the course.

Sample of Extra Curricular Activities During school time Gaisce Programme, Mini-Company, First Aid Course, Sign Language, Braille, guest speakers, life skills, community involvement, school sports, music, drama, Art & Crafts, fi eld trips, overnight excursions, Team Building Workshops, food and hygiene course, sports coaching courses.

After school hours Based on the particular programme - Sports including football, hurling, camogie, tennis, basketball, soccer, handball, racketball. Indoor & outdoor activities, drama production, classes in dance, music and drama, horticultural classes, naomhóg and sailing boat classes.

Táillí | Fee Structure Full Board Pupil, 5 nights accommodation - All inclusive price : €6750 (payable in installments in advance) | tuition, extra-curricular activities, excursions, meals, accommodation on campus Sunday to Thursday inclusive.

Successful applicants can secure their places by payment of the fi rst terms fee of €2,250 on or before May 1st. Thereafter, the balance of the course fees will be invoiced at the beginning of the subsequent two semesters i.e. €2,500 in January 2017 and €2,000 in April.

Próiseas Iontrála |Application Process / Enrolment requirementsApplication forms are available on our website www.anrinn.com Closing date for the receipt of completed application forms is February 5th and interviews will be conducted with applicants at a mutually suitable time. A reference from applicants’ current secondary school and copies of reports will also be required.

There will be one class as part of this inaugural co-ed transition year.

Irish will be the spoken language of the course (classroom and extra-curicular activities) and every effort will be made to help the students on their language journey.

To ensure students are suitably challenged, the internationally recognised TEG syllabus will be followed at the appropriate levels.

All students participating in this exciting Transition Year programme will be required to use Irish at school, at leisure and during off campus excursions.

Students will participate in media and fi lm-making workshops as part of the course.

Successful applicants will have the option of attending our July or August summer courses in Coláiste na Rinne with a 50% reduction on summer course fee (refunded on deposit of TY course paid to Coláiste).
