Durability Testing

An independent study* evaluated the durability of lithiumdisilicate as it compares to layered zirconia supportedrestorations by means of a mouth motion cyclic fatigue test. This test is able to simulate the forces exerted in the mouthto assess how ceramic materials hold up to the forces ofchewing.

Lithium Disilicatevs. Zirconia

A restoration is only as strongas the weakest link. In the caseof veneered zirconia restorations, the weak link is the porcelainlayered on top to give therestoration esthetic appeal.Independent research has now

shown that monolithic lithium disilicaterestorations have eliminated this challenge.IPS e.max lithium disilicate is all you need forhigh-strength, high-esthetic restorations.

Flexural Strength

IPS e.max Lithium Disilicate This Changes Everything.SM

Ivoclar Vivadent’s patented lithium disilicate material istruly a revolution for the dental industry.

Never before has a material been able to combinehigh strength, high esthetics and ease of use into oneproduct, until now.

IPS e.max lithium disilicate restorations exhibit superiordurability featuring 360-400 MPa of flexural strength. What’s more, when the lithium disilicate is fabricatedto full-contour, the monolithic structure is the mostrobust ceramic system tested to date.*

Lithium disilicate is comprised of a unique crystallinestructure which gives the material its strength anduncompromised esthetics. The opalescence, translucency and light diffusion properties of lithiumdisilicate were all designed to replicate natural toothstructure for beautiful and undetectable restorations.

Not only does the strength of lithium disilicate makeit durable in the mouth, but it also offers options forcementation. Restorations with a retentive preparationform can be conveniently cemented with conventionalcement.
