Opening

Iowa City Lodge No. 4 A.F & A.M. met this evening and was opened on the Third Degree in due and ancient

form, at 7:30 P.M. by Worshipful Master Jason A. Wolcott with the following officers in their Stations and Places:

Treasurer's Report:

Treasurer Charles Miller reported that the Lodge assets as of January 31, 2017 were as follows:

General Fund - $13,340.69 in the checking account. The Investment/Charity Fund contains $32,421.02 .

Total Lodge assets are $45,761.71.

Brother Miller moved that the report be accepted and placed on file subject to audit. Brother Smith

seconded the motion. The report was accepted.

Sickness and Distress: None

Necrology: None

Old Business:Brother Warren Leeps was installed as Junior Deacon by Worshipful Master Wolcott. Brother Paul Anderson served as marshal and gave the proclamation.

Communications:Thank you note from Empire Lodge No 126, Pekin, IL - The brothers of said lodge thanked the Worshipful Master and the brethren for extending courtesies and fellowship to Brother Norman Martin.

Bills:

The 3 bills total $251.69. Brother Kevin Smith moved that we pay our bills. Brother Jim Burr seconded the motion.

Warrants will be drawn for the following:$100 - Paul Anderson - compensation$76.59 - Paul Anderson - meal 2/20/17$75 - Ryan Reid - past master apron.

Petitions:

The petition for affiliation of Brother Brent Hinson was re-read. Investigation Committee reported favorably. Brother Hinson was voted for affiliation with Iowa City Lodge No 4 pending Certificate of Good Standing from Malta Lodge 318

Petition of Thomas Moninger for reinstatement was read. Committee appointed by Worshipful Master Wolcott of Jason Wolcott, Paul Anderson and Charlie Miller. Committee reported favorably and Brother Moninger was reinstated.

Petition of Larry McConahay for affiliation was read. Worshipful Master Wolcott appointed Brothers Burr, Tiffany and Gregg to the investigation committee.

Demit form of Kenneth Shaull was read. Brother Anderson moved that Brother Shaull's 2017 dues be remitted. Seconded by Brother Smith . Approved.

New Business: None

Degree Work:Brother Mark Anderson's 2nd degree will be on Monday, March 13 at 7:00 PM. Mentor: Brother Tiffany.

Masonic Education:Brother Warren Leeps gave a very interesting talk on Brother George Washington.

Masonic education for March will be presented by Brother Warren Leeps on the differences between Kansas and Iowa ritual.

There being no further business in this degree, the Lodge was closed at 9 P.M., peace and harmony prevailing.

Announcements:Brother Anderson was thanked for the meal. Brother John Grier will prepare the meal for the March meeting.

Masonic Breakfast will be held on Sunday, February 26 from 8:00 to 12:00 in the Social Hall. All are invited.

Brother Harold Plate reminded all present of the York Rite Spaghetti Supper on Saturday, March 11 from 5:00 to 7:00. Tickets are available.

Brother Kevin Smith informed the lodge that he will be moving to Des Moines at the end of the month, The lodge expressed sadness at his departure and wished him well.
