Home care in BC
What is an apt result?
- suitable or right for a particular situation
What is value for money?
- perception that the goods or services received were worth the price paid for it
Does home care in BC produce an apt result?
• Seniors overwhelmingly want to live in their own homes for as long as possible and receive health services at home as much as possible.
• 82% of home care clients want to continue living at home
• What about loneliness and isolation? Just over half of home care clients live alone
• Is the care adequate? Are we providing adequate care - medication errors and failure to thrive?
• Choice – who decides what is suitable or right for the client?
