The TALQ Consortium promotes the application of OLN systems
By:
• Delivering and governing a well defined interface specification
• Managing a Promotion, Certification and Compliance program
To:
• Enable one user interface for the customer to manage his outdoor lighting infrastructure
• Enable second source supply of interoperable systems
• Stimulate market growth by fostering competition

TALQ is a global consortium: http://www.talq-consortium.org/Industry-wide co-operation of lighting industry members from all regions
– The aim is to set a globally accepted standard supported by a certification program
– Formed in 2012, first specification expected mid 2013

Scope of the Standard
• TALQ will deliver a specification for application protocol between CMS and OLNs that covers parameters and behavior of end-points at the OLN and CMS side, needed for interoperability at application level.
TALQ Specification V1 is approved (Aug 2013).

• The Connected Lighting Alliance is the primary advocate of wireless connectivity in lighting applications. It is a non-profi t organization constituted by leading companies in the lighting industry.
• His mission is to promote the global adoption and growth of wireless lighting solutions by supporting open standards.
• The Connected Lighting Alliance was established by General Electric, Lutron, Osram, Panasonic, Philips, and Toshiba, now NXP and Silicon Laboratories join as regular member, Samsung, ERCO, Daintree Networks and EcoSpectraljoined as associated member.
• July 15, 2013– The Connected Lighting Alliance announced today its endorsement of ZigBee Light Link as the preferred common open standard for residential connected lighting applications, simplifying choices for both lighting companies and consumers.
