• 14,520 RCOOS; 5M HF Radar; 10M sensor innovation– Senate Mark: NOAA IOOS: 6.533M; Regional IOOS 31,055M

• Committee's recommendation provides no less than $26,055,000 for regional partnerships and $5,000,000 for external funding to test and advance sensor technology development.

– House Mark: NOAA IOOS: 4.9M; Regional IOOS; 26,568M• IOOS … shall ensure that sufficient resources are allocated for verification and

validation of existing equipment.– BUT - Potential Sequestration – 8.2% for NOAA

Organizations focused on the importance of Earth Observations to Societal Benefits

• Kicked off at Oceanology International March and 1st Ocean Radar Conference for Asia

• Goals:– Transform individual HF Radar networks into a global system where we can

provide high quality HF Radar for a range of used. – Development of easy to use standard products– Assimilate HF Radar data into models– Development of easy to use standard products 10
