Catrin Finch

Bach’s Goldberg Variations

In concert and on disc Catrin Finch, first Royal Harpist to HRH thePrince of Wales, has explored most of the established repertoire forthe harp. She has also embraced many opportunities to extend theaccepted range of the instrument and in 2005 began to work onher own transcription for the harp of Bach’s ‘Goldberg Variations’.

This landmark of the Baroque keyboard literature presentsastonishing challenges for any performer, and since the advocacy oflegendary pianist Glen Gould in the 1950s it has acquired iconicstatus. Catrin’s UK concert tour coincides with the launch of hernew disk on Deutsche Grammophon.
