PUTTING HOPE ON THE MENUChristopher Moore - Chief Executive - The Clink Charity (and special guests) Re-offending rates are at an all time high with 45.2% of adults reoffend within one year of being released. For those serving sentences of less than 12 months this increases to 57.5%. But what can happen when you equp inmates and offenders with the skills to grow, cook and serve food fit for fining dining? How do you then get the public to engage with the process to help change perceptions? Enter the Clink: where your first trip to prison will include incredible food which was grown within prison walls to organic standards and served by people working towards an MVQ in hospitality. All of those people - the growers, the chefs, the servers are currently inmates who are working hard to gain skills to get employment in the food and hospitality industries upon being released. Taking it one step further the Clink then mentors and works with employers to find job placements. The drop in reoffending rates is staggering. We’ll meet the CEO behind this ground breaking initiative, who will share their approach to rehabilitation and how it needs to involve everyone. He will bring along a graduate and the graduate’s employer who will share how this 360 approach is changing lives whilst providing a well-trained workforce to the industry.
