Day 1 continues to bedevoted to basic principles of rhinoplasty, where masters describe their distincttechniques when performing the basics.Days 2 and 3 delve deeper into nuances oftechnique and present new ideas intackling old problems. We have includedsections on nasal reconstruction andcongenital defects to make this course all-

The cadaverworkshop is one of the best you can attend, where seniorfaculty will guide you through your dissections and show youhands-on ways of improving your technique. The open micsession is new this year. This exciting addition allows anycourse attendee or faculty to present his own complicatedproblem for discussion and solutions by the entire group offaculty and attendees. We have chosen five thought leaders to speak about theirpersonal evolutions and philosophies as their careers pro-gressed in rhinoplasty. All continue to make huge contribu-tions to the way we approach, teach and think about rhino-plasty. We have added Breakfast Sessions dealing withpractice management issues that will be of interest to anyattendee, regardless of market size or location. Finally, twonew edited live surgery videos have been produced specifi-cally for this meeting: "Male Middle Eastern Septorhino-plasty" by Shan R. In 1974, the Educational and Research Foundation for theAmerican Academy of Facial Plastic and ReconstructiveSurgery (AAFPRS Foundation) was created to address themedical and scientific issues and challenges which confrontfacial plastic surgeons.

The AAFPRS Foundation established a proactive researchprogram and educational resources for leaders in facialplastic surgery. Through courses, workshops, and otherscientific presentations, as well as a highly respected fellow-ship training program, the AAFPRS Foundation has consis-tently provided quality educational programs for the dissemi-nation of knowledge and information among facial plasticsurgeons.

In the early 1990s, FACE TO FACE humanitarian programswere established so that AAFPRS members could use theirskills and share their talent in helping the less fortunateindividuals here and abroad.

FACE TO FACE: International brings AAFPRS members tothird world countries where they treat children with facialbirth defects and anomalies.

FACE TO FACE: The National Domestic Violence Projectallows AAFPRS members to perform surgeries on survivorsof domestic abuse here in the United States, who havereceived injuries to their faces.

The newest member to FACE TO FACE is Faces of Honor. This program offers free surgical care for soldiers who havebeen injured in the line of duty in Iraq and/or Afghanistan.
