Invitation
Distinguished [insert names],
On behalf of Changzhou Municipal Government and World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), we are delighted to invite you to attend the 2nd International
Forum of Taihu Basin Stewardship on 5th – 6th December in Wujin,
Changzhou, Jiangsu Province.
Entering its second year, the Forum is expected to carry on the momentum
from the first International Forum of Taihu Basin Stewardship, which focused
mainly on the Taihu Basin, and expand its focus to the middle and upper
reach of the Yangtze. More than one hundred participants from various
basins and sectors will discuss how to promote a sustainable basin growth
from the perspectives of governance model, finance mechanism and
collective actions under the theme of Building a Green Basin through
Collective Actions.
The Forum will interpret policies and trends on basin governance. It will also
introduce some domestic and international cases of basin collective
governance to showcase the best practice at different operation levels.
Moreover, several sub-forums will allow further exploration on the topics of
green finance products and mechanism, smart basin management and big
data, response to full value-chain corporate water risks, protecting rural
wetland, and building sustainable agricultural community. There will also be
an exclusive session for Australia-China collaborative projects in Changzhou.
The participants of the Forum will be from Chinese governments, think tanks,
industry associations, foreign chambers, international companies, domestic
business, industry parks and NGOs.

The water environment governance of Taihu Basin has been a long-
concerned topic for various relevant parties. As pointed by President XI
Jinping at the beginning of 2016, it is a key strategy for the country to boost
growth in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, while much has been done in
river course renovation, use of water resources, and control and treatment of
water pollution. Therefore, we sincerely invite you to join us on the work of
basin stewardship and to work collectively towards a vision of green basin.
We look forward to your attendance!
